I couldn't finish this video without crying. It fell like you were describing my life. I'm having sleepless nights ever since my son was diagnosed spending all my time trying to understand adhd. You are a wonderful mom. Kudos to you for home schooling your kids. Did you enroll your son in any sport or activity at any particular age?

Aw, mama, hugs. We have all been where you are now. The more we regulate ourselves and look for the good, the easier it all becomes. We enrolled my son in taekwondo when he was in kindergarten, and he is a second degree black belt now. I recommend looking into sports/activities that encourage crossbody motion and mental focus, like martial arts or musical instruments.

It is designed so that you could buy the grade level set for the entire year, and that set covers several scientific topics in accordance with educational standards. @ProjectHappyHome
@ProjectHappyHome 16 дней назад
Hi, my friend! I don’t think it would work well as a supplement during the school year because the lessons are pretty thorough and definitely not short. I would consider it as a way to prevent summer slide for families that take summers off. 😊

Hey! We have been using Teaching Textbooks for a whole year now and I absolutely love it. I do however keep hearing that is is not a strong program for the higher grades (middle and high school) as a highly educated woman, what do you think about that? Do u think it will prepare kids for college level math?
@ProjectHappyHome
@ProjectHappyHome 13 дней назад
I have heard this as well, and as someone who loved math and did a lot of higher level science/math, I understand your concerns. I think the TT program is very standards-based and on par with grade level expectations, but if your kid wants to get a math-based degree in the future, I might advise supplementing with problem-solving curricula as well. Otherwise, I think it keeps kids on track for math understanding and practical application. In terms of the math you would need for high school sciences, I think TT is perfectly fine.

I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings. I'm confused when it comes how you talked about history in the USA. Slavery was worldwide. In the USA 23℅ of free whites owned slave and 28℅ of free blacks owned slaves and higher percentages of native American tribes owned slaves. In fact in 2024 India has the most enslaved people on earth. Indians who look African (untouchables) are forced to stay in the forest, naked. As bus loads of fellow Indians take pictures of them. Like their in a Zoo.

1 point I'd disagree with or rather which could be aided by more contextualisation is the part about asking or reminding about the meds. Yes ofc it depends on who and how and why you ask but it can also be a support since forgetting to take them is a very real problem for many and if done in a supportive way can help a lot. Granted, I have less experience with childhood adhd and more with adults but the number of people who have pointed out their partners reminders as a positive impact is huge.

I have noticed myself wondering, "Is it enough? Am I going to be able to teach him adequately?" A little internal doubt but I've shoved that to the side because my son is excited to be home schooled and I'm excited to be the one to teach him and spend more time with him.
