Loved your gesture toward the flower lady ❤️ such videos should come with a disclaimer. I feel so hungry after watching this 😃 and Sagar’s reactions were epic after tasting the peach tea 🤣🤣
I was there last year. Wonderful place. But your info is incorrect. While there is evidence of a settlement of 6000-5000 BCE around Plovdiv, it's only continuously inhavited since 4th Millenium BCE, or about 3000 BCE. Athens and Argos in Greece however take the title for 2 of the 5 continously oldest inhabited cities on earth, next to Jericho, Damascus and Byblos. Argos and Athens have been continously inhabited since 5000 BCE, or 7000 years ago. Athens has however evidences of habitation between 11th and 7th millenium BCE, 13.000-9000 years ago. But as I also said with Plovdiv, it only counts from when it's continuously inhabited. Knossos in Crete was continuously inhabited since 7000 BCE until eventual destruction. and also Larissa and Thebes in Greece are also continuously inhabited since 5000 BCE. So those are 4 already (not counting Knossos) Anyway. We can safely say that Athens, Plovdiv and Argos, and Thebes and Larissa are the 5 oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe and with it the world, only surpassed by Jericho, Damascus and Byblos. Which is an incredible record.
We actually considered this! And you are absolutely right. I should have included "arguably" to ensure factual correctness. But thank you for the thorough information! I will definitely read more about this!
Plovdiv to Sofia is 140km, 1.30hrs drive. Not 2-3 hrs. The shopping pedestrian is not the longest in Europe. For example the one k in Belgrade is muuuch longer.
Ah, yes, you're right! Thank you, I will change that in the description. In terms of the longest street, I was going by the information we got from the locals. Also, some of the websites suggest the same. I had a quick Google search and the street in Belgrade seems to be 1 km long, while the one in Plovdiv is around 1.8 km long.
Istanbul looks different from what we see on travel channels! And thats because you showing us the city like a localite! Your non travel days looks like our routine days somewhat! Quite relatable.
Thanks for the video! Did you explore both Asian and European in one day? I have overlay in the airport for 7 hrs. Do you think I will have time to see both side? I plan to take a bus.
No, we explored in 2-3 days! If you have only 7 hours, I'd recommend enjoying the European side. It is more traditional and has more to see and do! All the attractions are on the European side. The Asian side has a more relaxing vibe! So, if you have more days, you can enjoy the pubs and some reading spots. Also, if you are planning to take public transport, do not forget to get the Istanbulkart. It will save your life. You can get the Istanbulkart from Istanbulkart vending machines located on the -2 floor of Istanbul Airport. Otherwise, they have Uber and BiTaksi too!
@@sagarandami thank you for your quick response. I’m a solo female traveler and first time in Istanbul. How much liras should I take with me for one day trip. I don’t plan to spend a lot. Did you buy e sim card before your arrival or after?
Wow, you are so cool!! I really want to travel as a solo female traveller at least once!! You must have a lot of stories to tell!! Anyways, please bear with my long response :) Istanbul can be either affordable or expensive, depending on your spending habits. I'll provide you with an estimate of some costs to help you decide. Some attractions have admission fees, which can be paid in Euros, while others are free. You can also use Klook to purchase tickets online in your own currency. klook.tp.st/GeCScyxk - Hagia Sophia klook.tp.st/LeQZEL6Q - Basilica Cistern klook.tp.st/gyHYvNJk - Galata Tower klook.tp.st/umyG7jQT - Dolmabahçe Palace In terms of food, look for options near the Grand Bazaar or Spice Market. For a typical chicken doner, we were paying between 100-200 Lira. This is a lower end of prices. Keep in mind that, prices in Istanbul change quite frequently if not daily due to inflation. Consider trying "Lokantasi" for traditional and inexpensive dining. A plate of food will be around 120-150 lira. If you are looking for some bakery items, look for Borek for inexpensive food options. There are simit/chestnut carts everywhere and it will cost you 10-30 lira. In terms of transportation, Istanbulkart will cost you 70 lira. Each train/tram or bus ride will cost you around 17 Lira (one trip), while a ferry ride will be between 24-30 Lira. You can top up your card at any tram station. We have covered everything in these two videos if you need detailed information:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pS2077_p1L4.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JzrQ1z3emHg.html Or you can watch this channel, she is amazing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9EyWRJedU0g.html Please note, that some links are affiliate links. It's important to be aware of these issues. Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions :)
We are currently on a 625-day trip around the world. We have been using an E-sim for the last 3-4 months, and it worked really well in Istanbul. We went with Eskimo due to its better pricing compared to other E-sims. I checked Klook and found that there's one for Turkey: klook.tp.st/eMXa3ttR
I'm glad you enjoyed it! We usually book accommodation through Booking.com, Agoda, or Airbnb. Take a look and see if any of these options fit your budget: booking.tp.st/TSzH07cY, agoda.tp.st/u6Z6kD5T, tinyurl.com/25cdnx93. We used public transportation to get to our accommodation, so I may not be able to give you the exact cost but according to some blog posts, it can cost around 900 lira or €26 from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Taksim Square (City Centre). You can get the estimated cost through their app as well. Alternatively, you can use BiTaksi as well in Istanbul.
Wow, simply amazing guys, u both always make feel as if we ate travelling with you. Ami, your body gestures while explaining are mind blowing. I could feel the happiness within you, so just enjoy and have more fun. Love you both my angels❤❤
Sadly, we are yet to be monetised. We are not earning anything from RU-vid as of now. We have been saving money for the last 8 years to travel the world for 625 days. We have talked about it in detail in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bbp85sxKK60.html :)
That is a valid point. I will update these details in the description, and we will try to incorporate them into the videos in the future. Thank you for the suggestion; it is much appreciated :) Our Airbnb link is in the description; however, I am also adding it here: www.airbnb.co.nz/rooms/10097490?source_impression_id=p3_1720451710_P3uN11-K0x60mltc We stayed there for 15 days. It was NZD 54 per night.
@@sagarandami that’s 9200 per night, which is fairly reasonable. You must have gessed that I am from Karachi, Pakistan. We visit Istanbul two years back and it was a wonderful experience. Though it is slightly expensive but it’s okay when you travel to such a beautiful place! You did not give your apartment location!
@@Shobyw Yes, I did see your profile. You’ve got a very interesting story to tell!! Would love to know more! We cannot wait to come to Pakistan tbh! It’s been on our bucket list for so long! And I agree! Istanbul is so magical! One of my favourite cities so far! We stayed near the Taksim Square. If you click on the link, it will give you a somewhat precise location of the apartment. It was in a residential area!
