22:50 - Seeing "Alvin" gradually illuminating a room that had been bereft of light for over 74 years is a very poignant moment.

the port side railing looks mostly mangled/missing even in 1985, i'm surprised the front piece stayed up so long. an oceangate shockwave prob made it fall

An intimate deep-sea dive into the outside and inside of the ghost of Titanic, in its grave where it has lain since the tragic end in 1912. Thank you, Alvin. <3

When she was awaken from her slumber to bring light to the tragedy and hasn't been able to rest in peace since. I wish humanity would have respected Dr. Ballard's wish and let her be. But thanks for this remarkable upload.

I want to work there... I'm so serious. I would love to even be a part of the rigging crew and help the submersible get out of and back in to the ship's docking port, operating a hook and latch, I'd be so super satisfied just to be a part of the team even as a laborer. How fascinating this research is! I could watch videos like this all day and night, I LOVE this type of exploration, furthering our understanding of the oceans and the ecosystems there within. I hope to the Heavenly Father we, humans, do NOT abuse this region of the oceans as we have every other aspect of them. Our oceans deserve so much more respect than what we humans have collectively given her, she's not a garbage dump, nor a free-for-all fishing hatchery, her resources are limited and delicately balanced and we've been disrupting them for literal centuries and it's increasing exponentially as we become more technologically advanced. It saddens me deeply and I wish so very badly more people were aware and concious of the utmost necessity for conservatory habits, which should be commonplace but are scarce among many nations. Our Earth is sick, and we are, largely, the cause... 😔🥺😥😢😫😖

Wow so apparently these thermal vents and their rich mineral flows they emit can be used to power the world for practically free if only we can learn how to harness their power.

The title of this video obvious. THAT'S THEIR FUEL! Warm ocean water. But you also need weak upper level winds so nothing is working against their formation.

I just love earth sciences. While the James Web is wrecking havoc on cosmology, the sciences of our own planet are still showing us we barely just scratched the surface. I only wish we could teach the naysayers that we as a species are doing so much damage to our planet, tidal rise, coral bleaching , global warming, so many results to our ignorance.. let's leave something for our Great Grandchildren to witness . And their offspring as well..

Hi Tim. The UK gov. have ROV footage of this extraordinary isopod from deep waters off Japan (1998). I was the only biologist on board the invesitgation expedition and it was such an incredible moment when this beautiful creature came into view. Mike Thurston (NOC) was able to identify it for me. Wonderful!
