I played this once when i was a young teenager. As I had to finish school and final exams, I had to quit piano and haven't touched the instrument since. But I remember how happy I felt when I actually finished practicing and played this. Hamauzu is my inspiration. I will never forget this moment... (and yes, I loved DoC, sue me)
strangely enough, this album has really shaped my music taste as a child/early teenager. Grew up in a family of musicians who worked with classical music (professional conductors) and had to attend their rehearsals and concerts. Used to HATE it, since it wasn't my thing and annoying af for me. But Hamauzu's work really made me fall in love with not only the piano, but also the music I grew up with. Even if it was through the medium of videogames. He is such a big influence on me, this album being my favourite ever as a kid. I'm so grateful for it. I played one of his pieces on the album in advanced music school learning piano, won't mention which one, but it was one from the album. He really is an amazing composer for me, helping me see the dissonant chords adding to the overall melody. And this has always been one of my favourite pieces. another strange fact: I first heard his music in Dirge of Cerberus. And I loved the game, mainly because of his great tracks. Gameplay and story weren't the best, but his music was just superb. I'm truly glad he made his way all the way up to the top of the final fantasy franchise composing for ff7 remake. Friggin love it.
I believe it was the Piano remaster, right? They titled it "Beyond the Darkness" but yeah, the OST title is what you said. Man, this has been in my top 10 list for many, many years (over a decade) and I TOTALLY FORGOT IT WAS ON THIS ALBUM. The WHOLE arrangement is a masterpiece. Absolute masterpiece.
@@findtruth5329 rofl even i completly forgot about this comment. I have never knew that Mr. Hamauzu had a part on composing for FFX and still this album means to me, especially Mr. Hamazu. Prolly cuz i grown up with ffx so much as a kid lololol. Still love this tho <3
@@dekirou320I have been a huge fan of his. His other work in Videogames is amazing. He has a distinct sound. As listen to Final Fantasy X XIII, and saga Frontier 2 soundtrack. Also Unlimisted Saga, Musashi Samurai 2, World Of Final Fantasy.
