Somehow does not surprise me. I don't think Elvis would sing anything he did not feel. All of his songs had meaning to them that everyone can relate to. Just my thoughts only! That is what makes him so special to his fans!
It was such a pleasure listening to George Klein's show on satellite radio just a few years ago. He told so many great stories, my favorite is that when Klein got out of jail on ridiculous charges of inflating his radio station's ratings, Elvis welcomed him publicly and with open arms during a time when stars reflexively dropped scandalized friends.

I originally watched this a long time ago and was floored. The story, the details and information is such an amazing journey. I just came across this video again in 2023 and again, it’s thrilling and just amazing, and it’s another key part of the Elvis story right up til the end and beyond. Wish there was more of an update. 😊

My Mom, who will be 90 this year, played at this show. She was living in Toronto and was one of the pickup musicians. She played violin - he had a small string section for this show. Anyhow, after the last show, Elvis had ‘his guy’ approach my Mom and said “Mr. Presley would like it if you would accompany him to the after party”. To which my Mom replied “Please tell Mr. Presley thank you very much but I don’t think my husband would approve”. My parents were married in Toronto in 1955. Anyhow, just wanted to share this awesome story.
