Weird books I loved: Made for Love by Alissa Nutting, Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi, The Tatami Galaxy by Tomihiko Morimi, Earthlings by Sayaka Murata, Kill for Love by Laura Picklesimer
I love how like all of the bookish people working on their tbr this year - I also do it and I'm hoping to get my tbr done with like 40-50 books on my physical tbr!
Road to Ruin immediately flew to my TBR but I decided against picking it up this year knowing it would be a series and I didn't want to wait. 😅 now I'm bummed to hear the guy is kinda meh?? Still looking forward to it at some point but kinda want to see where the series goes.
Honestly I love your videos in general but when this one started the first word out of my mouth was “WHAT THATS A CUTE OUTFIT!” I love the lace with the denim so cute!
I could have sworn T Kingfisher said A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking defy’s age ranges. Because it’s a YA protagonist who challenges conventions on why she has to save the world and has her own apartment but it’s cozy enough for middle grade and above. Either way it’s such a good book
Oh! I have Dial A for Aunties home from the library right now! I think I will save this video and watch it after I have read that, it always makes it so much better listening to you (or other youtubers) talk about a book I am just about to read if I do it that order. So, I will be back!
Haha, I read Defensive Baking in January, so wouldn't agree it's summery, but it is a very cute and fun book. I was so glad when I read it, because I needed the fun vibes. Your TBR Tackle is going so well, congrats!
Hey Riley, love this video. I got the books you mentioned on my tbr, some of them. I have 500+ physical tbr. I hope to put a dent into though by next summer.
I loved Vera Wong so much!! Dial A for aunties was enjoyable, but there was something about Vera and found-family which made me fall in love with that story
I looooved a wizard's guide to defensive baking, it was so cute. I listened to it as an audiobook last year but I'd love to read a physical copy at some point. I just loved the horse. It did what nettle and bone couldn't for me!
i feel like this video almost fully encapsulates your reading taste. tbr takeover is so fun cuz you're reading a lot of older books that i haven't heard about in a long time. i'm definitely more interested in well matched now!
Old books lol, I have a lot of books published in the 1900son my shelves. I'm currently reading the Da Vinci Code series by Dan Brown, which was started in the 2000s
I've heard that the rest of the Aunties books aren't as good. I really enjoyed the voice and tone of the first one and have Vera Wong on my TBR. I think that Well Matched is my favorite of the series. I DNF'd Well Played as well. The final book is more at the Ren Faire because Mitch's sister (I think?) goes on tour with the band to many Ren Faires in the area all summer long.
I really disliked Vera Wong... Vera was absolutely infuriating. The end made me mad.... Excited to see what you think. 😅 Also, really love this series!
I'm praying and looking SOO forward to you reading Kings Of The Wyld! That's literally one of my all time favorite fantasy books! And it has kinda cozy-ish vibes. Roadtrips and ride or die friendships.
my tbr got to 200 books end of last year, so I’m fighting for my life this summer to get it down to 90 books before the year is up now that my reading slump is in hell where it belongs. my goal has been inspired by this series, so thank you! 💕
