Beautifully done Maurice! Brought tears to my eyes as I spent several summers there in the early 1960's as a city kid at Camp Friendship. I was transformed by the rugged beauty and coastal life and those two summers were magical. It is different now, as back then it was not nearly as developed as it is now...still beautiful though...makes me want to go back in time as if I could.
They still have a lot to complete yet, and this may eliminate some of the truck traffic on rte 9 and 46, but would rather see something crossing the river towards the hosptals into Bangor. This will be good for those going to cancer Care from Downeast, or just heading out to the interstate, bypassing traffic.
I'm thrilled that in the future construction companies will have more work. I noticed that every bridge or overpass will require widening much like those on I-95. Way to go highway planners. On a more positive note I'm glad this project is finally being done. Should have been done 30 years ago but maybe I'll live long enough to be able to use this. I'm sure the residents on Rt. 46 will be very pleased to not have all those trucks on their road.
forgot about no ramps connection all the over passes , as suburbs grow in these areas the traffic patterns will change, thus requiring ramps too be added , have the same issue in NB Canada , they built bypasses with no ramps for cross roads just over passes , now they have to rip it half apart again too add in the ramps at double triple the cost of adding them from the start , two steps forward one step back ,
And it will breathe more life into Washington County economically. It will make Eastport as a port more competitive now that it will have a highway to move goods from :) 🛻 💵 💴 💰 🚢
yet it makes little sense not too have ramps at each over pass ,see this every where ,then they spend almost as much a few years later too add them due to new traffic patterns because previously un axcessable land is now axcessable ,but it will be great till its not
La casa de Stephen King muy bonita . Me gustaria tener una casa parecida Peró . . . No tan grande como. La de king , ahí en bangor. Pero a las afueras cerca de ese camino sinuoso hacia los prados .
THANK YOU Maurice for making this beautiful video of a place we LOVE to go every year and have such wonderful memories of visiting. p.s. Great music choices too
I stopped because I love navy ships. I served on the Enterprise in an air squadron in Vietnam 1966 /67. I have no idea of other ships besides Carriers. The owner gave me the info.
I LIVE THERE AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH Friendship is really small and has very nice residents, and everyone knows each other. Its a great place to raise your kids and just to live in. Over all its a great town! I love it!!
I am a local that grew up in Orrington, lives in Glenburn and spends a lot of time in Bangor. Your video was in my feed on Facebook today. Great job and I love the music choice!
