Good summary, but it's useful to say basal bolus with correction insulin rather than sliding scale, although in practice the meaning is the same

Nonrebreather masks (at best approx. 70% oxygen concentration) are not always fixed performance devices because the patients can have inspiratory flow rates greater than the mask can deliver. If the reservoir bag collapses, the flow is not high enough for the patient. A HFNC is a high flow device (examples Vapotherm and Airvo 2). The HFNC that do not have active heaters, like the Salter, are actually low flow devices because they can only deliver a maximum of 15 L/min Most patients have an inspiratory flow of approximately 20 to 30 L/min. The technical definition of a high flow device is a device that can deliver at least as much as the patient’s inspiratory flow rate (> or equal to a minimum of 30 L/min). N

They can delivery at least 80%, but that is why they are for emergency use only...

Why we are repleting at the level >4, if the normal range is >3.5?
@viviandsouza5
@viviandsouza5 2 года назад
There is always a chance that it can quickly go down from 3.5 meq. So they shoot for 4 I guess. Or maybe they're normal range is 4?
@MamukaAsatiani
@MamukaAsatiani 2 года назад
@@viviandsouza5 Every lab uses 3.5 meq/L, the answer that it can quickly decline from 3.5 is logical, but probably not a precise one. Is there any randomised clinical study regarding that?

thank you so much! i’m writing a paper on this topic for my medical ethics course and couldn’t find many good explanations on determining capacity of a patient that is refusing treatment based on denial of the illness being real. this is exactly what i was looking for!

Hello! I liked your video so much! I have been trying to look for a RU-vid video like yours that educates everything in this RU-vid vid! 🩺 🧑‍⚕️Your lesson is similar to the channel of this new medical student Dr Ethan. Dr's explanations are actually useful and I actually learned a lot for diet. He is a cool Doctor in the UK. You should see his RU-vid out and give the Doctor a subscribe over here! ➡️ #DrEthanHealth
