At first I thought “oh they want to get another hit like Squid Game” coz the set and being stuck in a game reminded me of it but boy I was wrong, the story was a whole political and societal statement. The meaning is more deep and serious compared to Squid Game. My ratings 8.5/10 I recommend it.
I loved Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and this show really one-upped that one! Like everyone else is saying, this show got a lot darker than the original ever did. That said, this show is definitely not for 7 year olds. Much darker material, with some more adult themes here and there. The animation quality really improved between the two shows, and the same goes for the writers' ability to handle tense scenes. Had me on the edge of my seat at times! I can't believe how much better this show is than the new movies. Seriously, HUGE difference. The plot is way more interesting than the third movie. Can't wait for season 2!
Everything about this show was incredible! The storyline is amazing! You felt more connection to the original characters and cares more for them. The quality of the animation has improved and Is movie quality. Unlike the last show, which felt like it lost its shine in the last season, I couldn't stop watching this show! I needed to know what happens next, I became a bit addicted. The story and scenes are much darker and more intense too! I wouldn't say it's for a younger audience under 7 years old. Can't wait for more as long as it stays on the same path it's on and they keep the same writes onboard.
Oh man this was so good. Way better than then the last two Jurassic World movies. I started the first episode just to see where they were going with it and I was hooked for the entire night. Finished the whole season in one sitting. It's dark and all you want in a Jurassic movie. The story was compelling and you wanted to know more after every episode. It pulls at the heart string. Had me balling out some tears. 😭 and yes an animation show like this had me crying. It was just that damn good. I really wish this was an actual movie because this is what I wanted to see in theaters. Not sure how they got it right through animation but manage to messed it up with the Jurassic world movies. Definitely a must watch show. Trust me it's not for the little ones. It's pretty dark.

People die including an adult close to one of the main characters. Characters often fear they would lose their lives or deal with the guilt of losing one of their own. Betrayal and verbal threats are part of the storyline. 9 to 7 are too young to be dealing with these themes on their own.

ItsTheCV30 May 2024 I know everyone has said this, but this show is much darker then Camp Cretaceous, which gives it a thrill we didn't quite see with that show. Mind you that doesn't mean any disrespect to Camp Cretaceous, which is still a very enjoyable show. But for a guy who has obviously grown since the show came, it was an awesome surprise to see how this show takes everything from that one and takes it up a lot of notches. The casual chatter, the emotion, the heart beating fear, everything is actually incredible in this show. Give it to the actors for doing their best with this show. And don't even get me started on the animation, some of the best I've seen out of Netflix shows like this one, the backgrounds are breathtaking, and even the characters are notched up to their best. This is what I wanted to see out of Dominion that we never saw, actual normal lives being interrupted by dinosaur mayhem. Things we were all waiting for until that film came out, sad to see this show meet those expectations and not one of the big budget Jurassic Movies. Overall, the show defiantly pays off for the longer wait they needed to make this show compared to the other seasons, and I completely recommend checking it out if you are a dinosaur enthusiast who watched the last show.
Wow. Just wow. This series has really captured my imagination on what dinosaurs and humans would do together since dominion didn't do that. This film also had many good dino fights and animated clips which were astonishing and extremely thrilling throughout the entire journey that were made out of joyful experiences with pure and raw excitement . This is a huge step up from camp Cretaceous season 5 and dominion. Good show and I hope they keep this running. There don't need to be any improvements just mainly improve the side human characters. The only reason this ain't a ten because it lacks the interest of human characters (side characters) which adds a dull factor into this review. However, overall, it is really good and a well received 9/10.
The angst is amazing, so much more dark and mature compared to the old show. Chaos theory should definitely not be rated y7, but that otherwise the plot is amazing. A perfect amount of suspense, mystery, and drama which isn't aggravating to watch. The grief is real in the characters, and every episode is unpredictable with complicated character relationships and accurate representations of coping mechanisms with grief and loss. Also with the addition of actual terrifying characters? The lady with the micro bangs is going to actually give me nightmares. Would highly, HIGHLY, recommend to watch. Although the camp cretaceous first series with five seasons may be a drag to watch, the results are with it. Me my friend and my sister all watched chaos theory premiere and were in awe. We may be well over the recommended age for this show, but it's just that good.
Watched this show back in 2022-23 with my friend wasn't terrible but the og show had a lot of issues but it did truly get better first few episodes are pretty slow kinda just like the og show but it got a whole lot more trilling from there sure it's predictable but me and my friends really enjoyed it even more then the first show from here the directors should work on making the show less predictable but i like the voice acting and mentions of trauma in the show not a huge fan of darius liking brooklyn but can't say i didn't see it coming. Yaz and sammy as a couple were kinda cringe to me in the og show but there very realistic and entertaining in this new show. Darius still just seems to refuse to tell his friends stuff but again got a lot better.
I'm a 26 year old and have been into Camp Cretaceous since it came out. I was so pumped to see a new show with them as young adults. I LOVED it and was so pleased from start to finish. I'm a huge dinosaur fan and this show was very entertaining to watch, even though it's a cartoon aimed for children, I still believe anyone of any age can watch. It does not make you feel like you're watching a show for kids, there is a solid plot, and very good suspense scenes. The character development is great as well and it's so cool to be able to see the characters as their older selves. Also, BUMPY, so happy she's back and able to be reconnected with Ben. If you're hesitant to give it a go, don't be, the show is great.
I imagine this show has its problems already, but that didn't stop me from enjoying this next Mesozoic installment in the Jurassic franchise. People can expect to see a lot more gruesome and chilling moments, and a lot of action packed thrills. Even if the series might be too dark for an audience of at least 8 years old, the character arcs have come full circle since Camp Cretaceous, with even more development to be found in a fully established cast. If you don't like to get your socks scared off, this series may not be for you, but it will immediately be forgiven due to the immense growth all of the characters go through. I absolutely cannot wait for Season 2!
So, we're expected to believe that fashion agents--and the Diva Designer looking for "the essence"--miraculously drool over a Plain Jane high schooler? Really? Shouldn't they have picked someone unattractive, who can then be transformed into "actually attractive" ?? (Think Sandra Bullock in 'Miss Congeniality.') But this never happens here! And Poppy--the Idol. Was she plus-size? I don't get it. Anyway, a good time killer for a Saturday night.
The worst show I saw on netflix After watching promo thought it would be a good one but very disappointed The lead actress Harriot was the worst I do understand that people are shy and have anxiety but her character was not ment for runway? And why was harriot always telling random facts to random people she met??during the photoshoot when she met new model rain she was babbling some random facts to him?? Plus there was no chemistry between the lead actors Seriously who talks on runway especially if you are a newcomer? Harriot freezes on her ramp walk she She never committed to the work completely Utter disaster show Watch at your own risk
I honestly never write reviews, but for this one I just had to. I can’t let someone else suffer and waste their time because I’m certainly not getting mine back. It was a show about an awkward girl who knows nothing about fashion either at the start or the end of show and that’s a fact I want to throw at you “Harriet”. The only good thing about the show was the videography. Other than that, don’t watch the show unless you’re a 13 year old girl because that’s the only way you’d enjoy it. Cheers.
AUTISM is not a dirty word. We can be our true selves and part of that can be autistic. That said, it is refreshing to see the autistic experience portrayed in tv and as someone other than a white boy who loves trains and is good at math. A lot of the plot is clearly there for dramatic purposes, but it is clear that effort was put into the experience through an autistic lens. Also nice to hear the lead was played by an autistic actress.
I think its wonderful. I love everything about it. I though that it would be a bore but watching it a bit more made me love the whole series. It gave me some joy and inspiration to just be me and live the life that i have and maybe try to push myself to something new. I love it!
Wish I could give Geek Girl 10 stars! Such great representation of our neurodivergent teens! I've spent many years helping my kiddos with social skills and anxiety coping strategies. I think that this is a MUST see for educators of middle school-college students! LOVE!!!
I find myself binge watching Geek Girl. This is a very unusual event for me. The series had me laughing and giggling like a school girl. The dynamics between the lead actor and actress was so fresh in the way it pulled you into the drama. I loved the fantasy. It also reflected the family and friend’s emotions through the different changes of friendships and relationships.
Enjoyed the series very much, original and humorous. Also very relevant to what challenges teenagers face in schools and society today. I enjoyed when the Geek Girl put school bullies in their place and taught them a lesson. The depiction of individualism amongst young people is brilljant and very real. The brutallity of what damage social media can cause is well depicted. Makes one think.
I think a lot of the reviews come from people who never read the book first! Having read the book when I was younger and thoroughly enjoying it, it was a guilty pleasure to see it on screen after so many years! It was an easy watch, yes the acting wasn't amazing and yes the plot is a bit out there, but I actually thought it was a little nostalgic to see the book I'd read as a teen come to life:) recommend if you've read the book, want an easy watch, and a quick series to binge over a few hours!
What should I actually say about this show. Is it predictable? Yes. Does the main character make you cringe at times? Yes Are the supporting roles, surprisingly decent and funny? Yes All-in-all, a space filler for your other more interesting shows. We’ve seen this plot play out over and over with very little variation in this series. I found myself wondering over and over, what would ever make someone write that part, was this scene even necessary, that’s just infuriating and not in a good way, but more so as a waste of common sense. The only characters who actually brought something interesting were the agents and their supporting staff etc. A missed opportunity to create an actual hit series. Maybe this should have just been left for the 16 and under.
"Fashion makes me happy"...one of the most unconvincing lines in the whole series. Panto characters, cheesy lines, ham acting. I didn't get it, nothing about Harriet is model material. There can be something 'different' about you but nothing about her physical presence would suit the modelling world. Her awkwardness takes over everything and even the camera can't hide it. And she'd never be thrown onto a catwalk like that, there are usually rehearsals.
Just finished watching this show because this girl had to binge all day. Love it so much! The fashion, the drama, the girl power and romance. Every episode kept me asking for more. I hope there will be a season 2 because Nick and Harriet are the cutest. I also love that Harriet fought back when being bullied. Many young ones need this right now. Bullying is still common today and probably worst as each generation opinions about life are louder than ever. We want to hear what people have to say but not to ruin someone’s life. Wish I had this when I was in school. Using entertainment to show those who are different from others that they are special too is perfect. Hope all young and old let this inspire them if they are still going through hard times. Some of us are dealing with mental health, ADHD and other issues. It doesn’t mean we are disabled and can’t live life. This represents how special everyone is even when they are super different. I’m different but truly embrace it!
It’s very funny, touching, informative, and a real eye-opener into the world of neuro divergence. Tim Downie brilliantly plays the role of the father, with great sensitivity- determined to support his daughter without her being labelled, to achieve whatever she wants. The cast is absolutely perfect and we binge watched Geek Girl as we felt we really cared about so many of the characters. Emily Carey portrays his teen daughter, “wired differently “ struggling with challenges in school and the modelling world, with great honesty and realism. It’s very inspiring and uplifting, confirming the importance of respecting our individualities in all their unique guises. It was touching to discover that the actress is actually neuro divergent, which explains why it is such a realistic performance, We are invited into her private world, as we hear her inner most thoughts.
Cumberbatch’s character was an alcoholic train wreck. The cops were not New York’s finest. The puppets were creepy. The movie was seedy and depressing. The kid caused alot of heartache. The only good thing was the superior acting of the defective who tried to solve the murders. Also the music selection was outstanding.
Hell no. Clones are real. Mix breeds cant have kids but doctors can make you have one now. Its cloning but inside the women womb. So many Clones in this world today
To be fair, the Citadel, with enough cultivation can be turned into a new Green Place, they would just have to work about marauders, but it's pretty defensible.
