I grew up racing Southwick also but moved south almost 30 years ago. I call Windy Hill the Southwick of the south it is one of my favorite tracks. It is located in Ellerbe, North Carolina.
Great to see! Im 60 and race a 1974 hodaka 125. I raced yamaha 450s for a few years. Now retired...i just go do vintage stuff every now and then. Im always going to do what i love.
I did a bit of that at Outback with my brother and some other old Laurinburg friends when I first got my 1999 Yz250 out about 10 years ago from moth balls. I would ride it 2-3 times a year max. Wasn't in shape for Moto, I could only ride about 2 laps on the old Outback track. But I tried to use the slow pace to do various practice drills. Feet position on the pegs, standing up, no dabbing, one hand, etc.
Dang Tom you were tearing it up!! And that 250 was hooking up in the wet sand!! Is that a new bike? You got your sights set on that +60 title at Southwick this year. I saw you drop it but you were pushing.
