It’s in the process of being refurbished for our own exhibition hobby, but we’re having trouble getting information on it. I was wondering what kind of threads or string you are using here or on it in general, and how you wind the bobbins? Ours packs 16 and that’s not something I want to do by hand, ha ha…
I use a cotton nylon blend from the jungle site. Really doesn't matter. I wind the bobbins on my lathe. One at a time but as slow as this runs they last a long time
I have stopped working on my one as the fuel tank is completely rusted out…I re did the mag but have run out of time so far ,disappointing as I am so close.thanks from nz.
This type of engine was used on farms in the 1920s and 1930s before electricity was wide spread. This would have been used to pump water, grind corn, saw wood, even turn a washing machine .
Nice old LB, I traded my brother a 1 hp Economy for a FB salt block and a LB, when I was a kid, but he has since past and I bought it and the rest of his.

@@kandkmotorsports still looks good I have a witte model 2b throddler engine log saw although it leaks water in the piston:( but John chokloski has been helping me it's the only old throddler engine I have and I don't have any hit or miss engine:( some day maybe but I have a lot of old Briggs and Stratton engine:) and lots of parts
by this time manufacturers were enclosing the crankcase, not using total loss oiling, and speeding up the engines(more hp). however the implements still required the same speed as always, so on this engine the PTO is off the cam shaft, while the engine runs 700-1100 rpm the PTO is 350-550. Note even today tractor PTO rpm is 540 not a coincidence
the place he said he got the motor was called (American Science and surplus store ) the reason i wrote the name down it was hard to understand what he said the place was i ordered a motor for may Snow blower i hope it works
This Myers pump is outstanding. Thank you for having this on You Tube I've learned alot of which outlets pull the water in and which pushes it out. The reason is I have one my dad bought from I believe from a salvage yard back in the 1960s. He never had a chance to get it pumping water, so I'm trying to restore it. I never knew which outlet was to bring water in and which was water out! Great video!!!
Nice Vid. I have one of those starter/generators on one of my Gravelys. You can also check generators by applying voltage to the batt terminal after removing the fan belt and the wire to the regulator. If the generator spins it is usually OK. It won't spin very fast though, because as you have said, a generator is not a very good motor.😁

yes, it was changed. there is a drain plug back by the pulley in the bottom of the housing. just fill until oil is visible in the fill hole at the very back of the pump.
I have the Same Pump I am in Texas does any one in the US know where I can find parts or a kit. Leather or rubber cups to rebuild this pump. It is missing the two side caps ( I will attempt to make them From Heavy PVC Plastic weld ) Any advice or help is appropriated.
leather cups can be bought from deanbennettsupply.com you can get the solid ones and make your own center hole. pvc should work for the caps, just also make a gasket for each one. the rubber valves I made from rubber round stock purchased from mcmaster carr
I have similar pump here in Australia It's an Australian made "Ajax" a direct copy of the American "Myers" Your video is helpful as it explains the correct procedure to remove the valves etc.

I've seen one for sale with a snow plow on it... was wondering if it would be powerful enough to to the driveway... I'm on a bit of a hill and didn't know if this could handle it... any thoughts?
