And here I thought I had seen all his crazy suits before. Never heard of this one before! The shopping for canned goods part was great! Trying to think of all his suits...velcro suit, cereal suit, alka-seltzer suit, chips and dip suit...and now I see there is a fire suit clip which I've never seen either...and a sponge suit too!
My Sis and I, as kids, ADORED Letterman. In the age of Carson, who I know is widely regarded as a genius (even at 53, the reasons escape me), Letterman REALLY stood out. There were only 3 major networks at the time (pre-Fox), so a very limited number of late night hosts. I think Letterman’s show started when I was 10-11 years old, and his stunts were so great: dropping various objects from a tower, running over viewer-requested items with a steamroller (Barbie’s Dream House being the one I most remember), the Velcro suit, Stupid Pet Tricks…at the time, he was the only talk show host who genuinely made us laugh. The man is still a great interviewer, but I can’t bear to watch him do it now…it makes me long for the nights my Sis and I would sneak out of our rooms -same as we did with SNL-and watch someone who really appealed to us, back in the days when “Late Night…” was followed by the National Anthem and then bars on the screen or static until some boring-a$$ morning show came on.
They are way more than cover band... 3 albums of original material that def picks up where Rush left off! Check them out, you will be very happy you did! 😎🤘
@@twistedhippie Thanks again, I have been listening to their originals the past few days, also found out they have played close to where I live, got to go see them in person!
That was nowhere near as impressive as I'd hoped it would have been. Somehow I missed this when it was on TV the first time. I was probably out on some hot date knowing me in 1984- I was fifteen and a half when this aired so..... I'm imagining I was probably not near a TV
Hi there! Great footage! Would you mind if I use some of your video of Mean Streak in a video of my own about Steel Vengeance and Mean Streak? I'll give you credit in the video of course!
Absolutely you can! I think it's important to preserve the history of Cedar Point, especially since it changes so often..Thank you for asking first.. much appreciated.. glad you liked my video!! Send me yours when you get it done, love to see it!
It sounds like the drum tech is running the mixing board. As a retired sound engineer, I checked up to 40 minutes in and found no change. I know the band is talented, I first.listened to their cover of 2112. No complaints. I remember buying that the year it came out.
@@left-wingprophet4775 I was standing at the front of the stage with the camera in my hand, so what you're hearing is stage volume only. The front of house speakers were over our heads and behind us, so i'm sure the mix was better towards the back of the room...but still a great show!
I grew up here, spent every summer of my life here until I was 16. I’ve been trying to find footage of jungle Larry’s for years and this just shows me I wasn’t crazy for having the memories I do. I was only four at the time of this recording. I do remember walking through as a child without the animals until they removed it all for the power tower. I also remember going on a field trip for a behind the scenes show of the dolphins. I used to love watching the dolphins then going into the aquarium. It’s almost impossible to find pictures or video from inside the oceana aquarium. Thank you for posting this here
Thanks for the comment! I always knew the footage I had was special and rare. Glad RU-vid came along, so now there's a way to share this with the world! Yes, there were alot of animals (i def didn't film them all..) Glad you enjoyed the vid! Thanks for watching... :)

The head writer almost died trying this stunt out in rehearsal. All the Alka seltzer reacting with the water pumped the top of the tank where his head was full of CO², and he almost suffocated. That's why Dave's wearing an Oxygen mask in this clip when they did it on the show.
