No they didn't! I was expecting to be stopped at a booth and provide it for inspection, however that's not the way it works at this and many other international borders. I was supposed to go in their office to show my passport and papers to the Immigration and Custom officers. What this video doesn't show is that I had to go back and meet officials to get my passport stamped and get a Temporary Vehicle Import Permit for the motorcycle at the Banjercito.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I wasn’t there long and my reasons were merely to travel to continue on to Monterrey. I’m wondering, why do you think a guy on a motorcycle would be in danger of being kidnapped easily?
I"m originally from Laredo, and my parents house is very close to your starting point. Growing up there we used to cross back and forth so often as we have a lot of family on both sides of the border. But lately is dangerous in Nuevo Laredo, our relatives tells not to go anymore as we are consider strangers in the neighbor hoods. Sad that it is like that now!
Hi Walrus Pack, Thanks for watching. According to the feedback, there seems to be a little debate to determine if Nuevo Laredo is safe. I was just riding through and getting the motorcycle registered. During that short time, I did meet some friendly and helpful people. So, my experience has been positive and I felt safe. If it actually is a dangerous city, I hope things change so that you, locals and visitors feel safe again. Cheers!
@@SteelBreezeVentures la Gente si es Amable lo unico que afecta aqui es la delincuencia fuera de ahí todo esta muy bien desde la comida lugares a donde visitar en si lo unico malo son los narcos
No you don’t, once your inside Mexico certain casetas are what they are called do charge for you to travel on the roadway supposedly it’s money used to maintain and improve roadways/highways
Thanks for watching. When I did the trip, I had friends working in government suggest the border was the safest “at that time.” If I were to do it today, I’d have to do my homework again. What border crossing would you recommend to someone who wants to go through the whole country?
Awesome video, i’m curious to know how far does crime go in oaxaca. I got anxiety just watching you and all your gadgets on the bike and hoping you are safe.
Thanks for the message. Oaxaca felt extremely safe. It was one of the favourite places I visited on the entire trip. I would highly recommend anyone going there. The city is beautiful, lots to see and do, and the rides in and out of town are breathtaking.
Hey steel breeze thanks for posting. But she did totally get what you said at the first booth. She answered" to you the cold is nothing." Because obviously your from a colder climate.
Thanks for confirming what I thought. Also, excuse the delay on this reply. I was unknowingly blocked from comments for a while because I had this video suitable for kids... but as I’ve learned it’s likely not suitable due to some comments people leave.
Next time you drive thru,Stop by for a visit,a rest or a chat , I live 2 blocks away from bridge #2 , I'm a Texan raised in SLC,Utah and Boise Idaho, now retired and relocated down here, and yeap, it's freaking safe down here, honestly, I've been living down here in all over Mexico for the past 6 yrs and I've received nothing but love, respect and friendship down here , something I've never received"UP THERE" !! ✌️LUV Y'ALL✌️
Thanks for the invite! I definitely will if ever I do the trip again. I’ll likely be doing Europe next, but who knows what the future will bring. Cheers!
in my personal life ... I honestly said it , if I wasnt safe or happy down here y'all think I'm stupid enough to be down here ??? ... 😂 ... ahahhaha heck no !! freaking luv it down here, what's not to love, everything is waaay cheaper ... rent , food , clothing , shoes .... the cost of living is outrageously awesome , I meen , I rent a 2 bedroom apartment ,fully furnished ,in the middle of downtown on the bordertown I live in and live in the middle of the 2 international bridges we gotts here in town which are like 5 blocks from each other , which I can go to the states when I want to and only go up there 3-4 times a year , and I only pay $200 dllrs a month and that includes all bills paid and imma talking about fully furnished apartments , ain't no way me or any of you all can rant or live in a place for $200 bucks back home ... plus everything is way cooler than up there, logically u don't have to be down here to look for trouble, down here if u don't bother the cartel dudes they won't even bother you at all and even wave goodbye when they drive by 👋🏻😬✌🏻 ... plus my Medical Pot ,plus beer ,tequila, burgers , fried chicken , and food in general is outrageously way cheaper and better down here , and even my meds , they're cheaper down here at full price than me paying "the deductible" back home ... the only way y'all ever get me to go back to my beloved USA , the so called ✌🏻the home of the free,✌🏻 is to ..... naaaa fk it , I'mma staying down here we're I REALLY HAVE FREEDOM !! ✌🏻 LUVS Y'ALL AND IF YALL EVER GO TO VEGAS, SAY HELLO TO WAYNE NEWTON FOR ME, WE USED TO BE NEIGHBORS BACK HOME IN LOGANDALE, NEVADA !! ✌🏻💚😚💨💚✌🏻
Thanks for the feedback. It was actually a place recommended by people in the know... plus it was done very early in the day. I’m sure there are dangers in many places, but we can’t let fear dictate all action. Cheers!
Warning ****Alert **** March 7th Saturday, 6.30am. Local Cartel del Noreste waiting outside mexico customs to charge 500 or 1,000 dls fee pay them. They use cars no plates , no guns. No mexican authorities around, is a quick extortion to get money. I was lucky and I get away by using defense driving i try to get back to USA but they block me and i drive in a wrong way just to get to Mexico immigration . Around 7am the state police showed up and I could drive away from nuevo laredo by groups.. The police just said do not cross before 8AM... Local cartel in absolutely control in the city on nights hours...
Para su conocimiento los que le hechan a Nuevo Laredo, esa colonia donde se metió es la primera fundado hace más de 160 años , aquí también hay colonias privadas ricachonas
That border crossing was viewed as one of the safer border crossings. I’ve seen much worst places... bottom line, always ride with your head up and don’t look for trouble.
