And he counted on Sylvanas' ego and short temper to make her get angry and get clumsy, and in this case, she lost her temper and said something she shouldn't have and lost the Forsaken. Saurfang won.

Bolvar didn't beat arthas ! i mean arthas could kill him with 1 hit ! it's the new lich king that he must maintain the control of the undead scourge only ! it doesn't mean he's so Strong ! arthas was so powerful that took tirion, horde, alliance and the argent crusade to take him down ! i mean he could have beat bolvar / sylvanas / tirion and everyone on 1v1 ! the old lich king is so powerful and so badass then the new one ! bolvar is so weak comparing to arthas !
Sylvanas is working with someone in the Shadowlands (the afterlife in WoW) named "The Jailer". The Shadowlands have been broken for a while. When someone dies, their soul is supposed to go to "The Arbiter", who decides which afterlife realm they go to. There's a "Greek heaven" realm, a forest/nature realm, an undead realm (where the Lich King's crown was actually made), a vampire realm for souls that need to be redeemed before they can go somewhere better, and then "The Maw", which is for only the worst souls. No one who goes to the Maw has ever been able to return. There are apparently infinite realms, but we only know about these 5 so far. Lately, however, ALL souls have gone straight to the Maw, whether good or bad. The Jailer rules over the Maw. It's not clear whether he's the reason for the afterlife being broken, or if he's trying to fix it. But what we do know is that Sylvanas burned the World Tree Teldrassil and started the Fourth War in order to kill as many people on both sides as possible. The more souls that go into the Maw, the stronger it becomes, and the stronger the Jailer becomes. The magic of the Maw and the Jailer is how she was able to beat the Lich King. The tower in the sky you see here is "Torghast", the tower of the damned in the Maw. By breaking the crown, Sylvanas just broke the veil between life and death that she mentioned at the beginning. Because of that, we can go to the Shadowlands in the next expansion and try to fix things. So is Sylvanas good or bad? We don't know. She DID just try to kill off basically the entire planet of Azeroth, but if that's part of her plan to stop all souls from going to literal Hell for all eternity, that's less pure evil and more being willing to DO pure evil to do something good. Bolvar, the Lich King, was indeed a paladin. He attacked the Wrath Gate and was facing Arthas when the Fosaken (undead) attacked from the flank. They had catapults on a cliff top and blanketed the entire area with Blight, forcing Arthas to retreat and killing basically everyone. But some red dragons came and used their fire breath to clean up the Blight, which is why Bolvar became a burned husk with perpetually burning dragon fire in his chest.
A) That's Bolvar not Tirion. Tirion defeated Arthas (Really the light Empowered him to destroy Frostmourne) with the help of the Champions of Azeroth (players). B) The Reason Bolvar took the throne was because without a Lich King the Scourge would rampage uncontrollably across Azeroth without one. The Helm of Domination controls the Scourge while also maintaining the Veil between the world of the living & the Shadowlands.
Mak'gora is a fight to the death for leadership. Using magic is not allowed. Similar ones have been Durotan vs Gul'dan in the Warcraft movie and Thrall vs Garrosh, where Thrall cheated and thus lost his connection to the elements and his weapon, Doomhammer.
Keep seeing this kind of comment in every review of this cinematic and it's still wrong, no matter how many times someone says it. If you are going to claim magic isn't allowed, provide some source of official proof of that statement, please? Mak'Gora is a challenge of 1-1 combat until death or another agreed upon condition. The challenge is issued, terms are chosen, discussed and then both parties either agree or disagree. Once terms are settled, the battle can begin. Unless both parties agreed on no magic, then it is allowed. If a challenge is issued and accepted without terms being offered, then ANYTHING GOES. If the Mak'Gora were just for leadership and magic not allowed, just as a basic rule, then no one would ever be allowed to lead except warriors since no magic users are going to ever stand a chance without being able to use magic, and then why ever be a Shaman or any other magic user if you could never be seen as anything but a second class citizen? The Orcs know well enough that just carrying a big stick and having bigger muscles isn't the key to a good leader. So is wisdom, experience, skills other than swinging things around. Neither of the Mak'Gora you mention show any mention of terms in either battle, so there are no rules. That is their tradition. There's a reason Mak'Gora isn't always challenged, throw around 12x a day to anyone that wants to give it a whirl. You have to know your enemy, strengths and weaknesses, abilities, powers, etc. Warrior wants to challenge a Shaman? Better have some way to defend against magic or keep your mouth shut.

She wasn't "unfair" she was stronger and faster than him. Also the mak'gora allows for anything but the interference of a third fighter. Magic is as fair as body strength. Only poison is a greyzone in this regard. She is a highelf which died shortly after arthas became the lich king, and even when she died, that day she was already ranger general of silvermoon. Saurfang, as much as it hurts to say, was an orc older than most of them even get if they are living for the fight. So lets reevaluate. A Bansheequeen who already lived whoknowshowlong longer than saurfang (since orcs should be around 70-80 years in lifespan while elves have several centuries), was in life already one of the best fighters of her kin and also plays mindgames and 4d chesslike strategies vs a bitter orc on the evening of his life who can't even scratch her without having to resort to surprise attacks with hidden/combined weapons. I don't think undead can get exhausted like orcs. :)

Tbf fair Sylvanas didnt cheat. Mak Gorah doesnt have any rules. Rules of the battle are set by the participants before the fight starts. Since none of them havent said anything about useing magic atc. she was justified and allowed to use her magic. But thats what Sourfang wanted all along.
@@highapachelos3286 Nope. The rules are set by the participants before the fight. If nobody mentions ''no magic rule'' or ''no poisons'' atc. Than it is by all means allowed. So if Sylvanas wouldn't fall into Saurfangs trap and dismissed the horde. She would remain a rightfull leader of the horde. And even Thrall wouldn't be able to do anything about that.
Bolvar did not kill Arthas. That was Tirion and the heroes of Azeroth. Bolvar was actually Arthases hanging decoration before he died. He was hanged by the chains above the frozen throne as a trophy. After Arthas died, Bolvar was released and he convinced Tirion to make him the Lich King, because Tirion was ready to put it on. This was Bolvar was able to do 1 last thing in servicec of the Aliance AND Azeroth in general.
Sylvanas was a High Elf before she became ‘the banshee’ of the Lich King. But blood elves named themselves bloodelves after the lich king killed more than 80% of their population, they were High Elves as well, but they swore to take revenge (on the alliance as well because they didn’t bother to help) and then they started to practice arcane magic and built the Sunwell. So calling Sylvanas blood elves comes close, because she probably would’ve become a blood elf as well if she survived it and saw her people get slaughtered.

Even Thrall wasn't happy with how he won the duel. One of the rules of Mak'gora is each participant chooses a weapon and that's all they can use, even if they drop it they can't pick it up again. One can't use, say, a sword AND magic, it has to be one or the other. Since she chose dual weilding daggers she couldn't then use magic, same as if she had started the duel using her bow she couldn't then switch to daggers. Meaning she did cheat. And that's not even accounting for other stuff like the fact you're not supposed to be wearing armour.
RagnarTheRed Those are her clothes 😂 but correct me if I’m wrong Mak’gora has no rules. You fight to the death, but rules can be added before the fight, like no use of magic or some sort of rules. If both challengers accept the rule they will fight with that rule, but I never heard of choosing one weapon.
@@stanleyho8009 They aren't her clothes, she has metalic pauldrons and a chestplate, that's armour. It's like saying Saurfangs signature spiked armour is just his clothes. Anyway: "As described in The Shattering: Prelude to Cataclysm and Bloodsworn the rules for Mak'gora are: -Each participant is allowed one weapon. -A blessing of this weapon by a shaman of their choosing is permitted, but not required. (meaning using a wepons ability or blessing like Shalamayne dividing into 2 blades is permitted) -Once a weapon was dropped, the rules clearly stated that it could not be retrieved by either party. -Each participant must have at least one witness. -If both participants refuse to fight one another, they are banished from the clan or their respective clans. -Traditionally, it is to the death, but under Warchief Thrall's rule, it became a non-lethal combat, similar to Warsong's Mak'Rogahn. Participants can choose to forgo this change. However, even when operating under the old rules, the victor can choose to spare the loser's life." Again, straight from the wiki. It also says "It is worth noting that both Garrosh and Thrall were not in full compliance of the tenets of Mak'gora, with both wearing full armor and wielding two weapons - Garrosh his twin axes, and Thrall the Doomhammer and elemental magic. " during their first duel. Her dual wielding could be overlooked because Saurfang was also dual wielding but he wasn't using magic nor an armour so she cheated.

The name of the actuell Lich King is Bolvar Fordragon. He was a highlord of the Alliance and part of the Battle at the Wrathgate. He fought on the side of the Horde, led by Dranosh Saurfang. In the fight Putress emerges from ambush and uses the forbidden plague against the forces at the gate. Arthas was there too. Many die, including Bolvar. Alexstrasza and Korialstrasz, Dragons of the red Dragonflight, appear and cleanse the battlefield with their fire from the plague. Later, when the heroes fought against Arthas and defeated him, Tirion Fordring (who beated Arthas with the other Heroes) wanted to take the place of the Lich King, because there must always be a Lich King. But then Bolvar appears, burned, but alive and demanding the place of the Lich King.
You should definitely go back and watch through all of the Saurfang BfA cinematics for the whole story. The order of those is: Old Soldier, BfA Intro, Lost Honor, Safe Haven, then Reckoning.

So Bolvar argues he is the best choice/'sacrifice to become the Lich King as King Ternus said to Tirin there must always be a Lich King or the restless scourge will be an even bigger threat to the world.
