In hindsight, I probably should have, but I figured going Defiance would keep things a bit more interesting/stressful in terms of economy and such. If I go into Nightmare difficulty, I'll likely switch to a Prayer merc!
Hell yeah, my mom also got me a PlayStation without a memory card. I basically became an unintentional speed runner for the games that I owned since I had to beat them before my mom turned off the console. Never beat this one of course, but I did get up to the mages once and got annihilated by the first one I went up against XD

@@saturnpastnever I think Jon_Oh might have given you a shout-out in one of his videos. That's probably it. He's almost 100 % a Forbidden Memories channel, which is an interesting niche to fill. He keeps beating it with specialized Decks, but also admits that the Boss Rush in the end takes hours to beat with the lousy RNG most of the time.

I'm one of those weirdos who thinks Haunter is actually cooler than Gengar. My favorite ghost type overall though I think is Sableye. Having no weakness along with being a cheeky jerk with the prankster ability feels so wonderfully mischievous.

so how many months did this take? seriously the farming one needs to do to beat this game even casually let alone with your reset rule can honestly take hundreds of hours
This two about two months of streams, but that's also why I only went to the end of the World Tournament. I couldn't imagine doing the Final 7 on just one life.

i can relate with the horrors of being a ps1 owner without a memory card (for a while) and being unable to finish some games like resident evil 3 nemesis till i finally got one.
Good to see someone do this game without codes. I really liked this game but seemed the only way to win was if you started with a deck full of 2000+ cards.
I haven’t played that one! I’ll admit, I haven’t played a ton of YGO games. I played FM, a little bit of Duelist of the Roses, and Eternal Duelist Soul I think it was called.

Me and my brother beat the final end boss 2-3 times but it was very long journey. It’s beatdown deck but you need to know all which monster can be fused. They all fuse without poly
Oh man I remember this game... I played it after watching the TV show and I had no clue how to play it when I was young and just remember getting frustrated. I also have a vague memory of fighting against Atem, and he just... had Exodia on the first turn. This may have been a different Yu-Gi-Oh game (They all kind of blended together back then). Today I happily play Legacy of the Duelist on my switch from time to time. The story of the lack of Memory card reminds me of what I tried to do as a kid as well. I too was lacking a Memory card and I was trying to do my best to beat the entirety of Mega Man Legends without it. That's a game where if you die, you go back to the last save so I would have had to do it all in one go without dying! I never succeeded at it. The farthest I ever got was the water temple (I don't remember the name of the location, just that it was water based and I think about 1/2 or 2/3 through the game)

@@SheraNovaClova so to be honest, I just copy/pasted the letters from different people's names in a discord server I'm part of haha. I thought the font was neat and have been using it on discord myself. When I decided to revive my gaming channel, I just copy/pasted from discord. Have no idea how the others got it, though 😅
@@saturnpastnever hahaha if nothing else it was a good idea and while not technical levels of clever it was a kind of fashion or appealing levels of clever and also borrowing (but never stealing) ideas from others is kind of how the world works so it is critically clever too. I wish you the best. If nothing else is obtained from your name at least you know it drew me in 😂.
