The camera pans across a dimly lit room filled with posters of iconic musicians and a vinyl record collection that lines the walls. In the center, we find two chairs facing a large screen displaying vibrant album covers and a table with two microphones. Kyle, a charismatic music aficionado with a keen sense of humor, adjusts his headphones. Isaac, the more analytical and introspective of the duo, flips through a stack of CDs, ready to dive into the realm of music critique.
KYLE (Takes a deep breath) Isaac, my man, I can feel the electricity in the air. It's like we're cooking up something truly special here.
ISAAC (Grinning) You said it, Kyle. We've got the taste for music, the passion for discovery. It's time to unleash our thoughts on the world.
The camera cuts to a montage of energetic moments from their previous episodes, capturing their dynamic chemistry and the intense music discussions they engage in.
I think people shouldn't compare Ok Computer to To Pimp a Butterfly, both were made in very specific times with different styles of music, different kind of musicians with different technology, abilities and concepts. Both #1 in their respective ages, Kind of like Lebron and Jordan I guess.
“Sail To The Moon “-needs to accompany a trippy anime scene of a child literally sailing to the moon, on the back of a mythical creature….like a centuar or something…😊
3:23 - I'm so old, I bought the CD at a store for those things when this came out. They let you listen before you buy, so I'm listening to the first track - 2+2=5 - and immediately I'm in love and they have my attention. When it "dropped" here, it blew my mind. 🤯😍 I purchased it immediately on my student's budget, which was $20-something at the time. I was a Music student at uni though, so priorities right? It's still one of my favourite albums of theirs, I've never stopped listening to it. ❤
I saw them at Bonnaroo three years later. They opened with There There and then went into 2+2=5. They also debuted seven songs off of In Rainbows at that concert over a year before the album was released.
for me, i skip 12am, friends, working on dyin, and going stuck i didnt like shawty at first, but it grew on me nontheless, i think this deluxe seals it as my favorite album of his
It's never good to be so opinionated about a Radiohead song when you first hear it. Most often people change their minds after repeat listens and start loving the song they once weren't into. I remember not caring for the album "Kid A" the first time I heard it and I later felt like an idiot for telling the record store guy I didn't care for it a week after I bought it. I still remember the look on his face. I'd be curious to see how these guys feel about the songs they criticized in several months (assuming they give the album more than one listen.)
im all with you for allowing music to grow with you i.e. not giving it one listen and throwing it away, but for a reaction channel like this, being opinionated off first listen is the driving force. that being said, i (kid on the left) have relistened 3 times and still think the middle pacing really drags the albums down. some songs like we suck young blood have definitely grown on me in a better listening environment but i remain firm in my distaste for backdrifts 🤘 love hearing the feedback for real, thank you! where does this rank among your favorite radiohead?
