Hello, I just found your channel, and I have a question regarding the small rv not allowed. What is the smallest rv you allow? Will this also affect us just visiting Yellowstone? Thank you so much for the information ❤
Hi there! I'm not sure that there is a specific requirement about length, but you need to have a hard sided RV because there is a lot of wildlife around. If you are interested in working and/or visiting Yellowstone, contact DNC and inquire directly with them. cwade@delawarenorth.com or kclark1@delawarenorth.com
Happy to be going back to Yellowstone this summer. This will be my 3rd season working for Delaware North, Yellowstone General Stores. This is a great workamping experience.
Applications for their 2024 season opened two weeks ago. In the Jobinar today, the Delaware North team talked about how they are going through applications now and that they start with returning employees first. You can reach out to the DN team with questions via the contact info they provided.
Tons of great advice 🙂👍. My membership recently expired but I've had a membership for a couple years, and I love your services🥰. I look forward to your next membership deal because times are tuff so that's when I'll probably renew my membership🙏🙂. Namaste
Can you be a resident of South Dakota and work for a company that pays you; what state would you pay state income tax to, the sate you are working in or to South Dakota?
Hi Bill, If you physically work in another state and receive a W2, then you need to file a tax return for that state and possibly owe taxes to that state. For example, you work over the summer camp hosting in Colorado and receive a weekly paycheck. You’ll get a W2 from your employer and will need to file a Colorado state income tax return. Depending on how much was withheld for taxes and how much you earned will determine if you owe more taxes or will receive a refund. You can learn more about Workamping on our FAQ page at www.workamper.com/faq/workamper-faq And here is an article from our blog: goneworkamping.com/how-to-handle-taxes-when-workamping-in-multiple-states/
Hello. I am so glad to find your channel. I am going to look into buying a subscription. Why? Because I'm retired with an income but I would love to work in the camping/hiking industry. I plan on spending the next few years enjoying nature, indulging in lots of section hikes through Florida Trail and the AT. Finding a place to work and spend free time hiking would be a dream. Work as long as the season lasts and then find a new place. TO MY SPECIFIC QUESTION: In reference to an earlier question regarding Puerto Rico, you said it's probably not possible on an island because it's hard to move an RV on an island. An earlier video said an RV is not necessarily a deal breaker. I was a machinist/machine builder most of my life. Sprinkled with boat mechanic, construction, maintenance, Supervisor experience. I even worked in law enforcement. lol. My life passions are fishing of all kinds, canoeing (I have worked a canoe outpost in Florida). Anyway, obviously I'm looking for some help. Thanks in advance.
About 10-13% of Employers (in the lower-48 and Alaska) that advertise their jobs to Workampers provide housing. This is a search filter on our Hotline Jobs page at workamper.com. In pretty much all of the Q&A videos we discuss the "how to" on finding a job. If you are seeking a position on an island, then Workamping-related websites/resources will not be helpful for you as businesses in those locations do not use them to find workers.
Can you address the camping concessions, raising fees, adding junk fees, no water in most of the camps in colorado (recreation resource management of America) no money spent on upkeep and low wages for one partner and tons of work. Rrmofa requires 24 7 presence. It is bs.
Hi, I'm sorry if you have encountered a Workamping opportunity that was negative for you. We are not "judge & jury" of Employers and Workampers. It is up to each party to research each other to determine if the job opportunity or worker is a match. We encourage Workampers to share about experiences they have had with specific employers in the Workamper Experiences tool at Workamper.com - which has been compiling reviews since 2007. This is one of multiple tools available to help Workampers research an Employer while considering a position.
@@Workamper sorry...this was not a job I got through workamper...just wanted to voice a concern and ask if others had the same concerns. Thanks for clarifying workampers position
@@bearofverylittlebrain If you are seeking a forum to communicate with and ask questions to other Workampers, we recommend joining one of the many Workamping groups on Facebook. :)
My first workamping job (experience) was through an advertisment in workamper news in 1999 as were all subsequent workamping positions. I do miss the printed version, however; highly recommend anyone considering the workamping lifestyle to consult/subscribe to workamper news. It offers virtually everything anyone would like to know about workamping.
Hi B0, Yes, but it will vary by Employer. Some Employers have no restrictions on the type of "home on wheels" that the Workamper has, and some will have restrictions due to things like lack of availability of facilities like bath/showerhouses, weather conditions, wildlife in the area, insurance, business type (like a motorcoach-only resort), etc. Just be upfront about what your home on wheels is and communicate with an Employer offering an opportunity that interests you to see if you two would be a match.

37 years, now it's time to retire. what a shame, an entire generation of workers grew up on this magazine. and now it's being ripped away from them call it's so vicious and tragic. but the magazine will forever live on and are sweet sweet memories.
We are sorry that you feel this is "vicious and tragic." We announced this change to our robust list of membership benefits last summer; preparing members for multiple months now. The decision was made based on our members' activities and preferences. Based on that activity, the majority of members do not want the magazine any longer and employers prefer to use our other advertising avenues. It doesn't make sense to continue doing something that our members do not find beneficial just because "it's always been done that way." Unlike other resources that have come about in our industry since we started it 35 years ago, we are continuously working to enhance our website and services, provide new information and content, and grow the number of opportunities for Workampers. We look forward to continuing our mission to help Workampers live their travel dreams via the multitude of services and tools that we offer.

What an incredible refresher course. And so timely. Last three years (since COVID hit in 2020) I've been going back and forth between Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge in southern AZ and the Pagosa Riverside Campground in CO. No hardship as I have enjoyed both sites immensely. But I've decided to move on for the summer of 2023 ... have just started looking ... and here you are with the perfect aide to help me seriously get going with my search. Thank you so much. I'd love to get to the Rendezvous again. If I can do it on the way to a new site, I certainly will sign up. Thanks again for all that you do. Barbara Alpher
Barbara, You are one of the sweetest souls and an inspiration to all! We so appreciate your support all these years and love to hear about your Workamping adventures. :) We're sure the refuge and Pagosa will miss you greatly, and wherever you end up will benefit from your positivity and work ethic!
There are still great positions out there. I found positions with Delaware North in Yellowstone for this summer. I applied for a position this past Saturday and received an offer for a position on Sunday. Now getting ready to head to Yellowstone for the summer. My membership with Workamper News has provided great access to the best positions over the years.
Hi Ben! As a Workamper, you will likely be traveling many miles to take a job so you want to make sure that it is going to be a good fit for you and your needs. Each person's situation is different so the questions you may need to ask will vary based on your specific situation, but here are some examples to get you thinking about the kinds of questions to ask during a Workamping interview... 1) First, you will want to clarify what the compensation will be. Is it all hours paid, is just a trade of hours worked for an RV site, is it an RV site plus pay, etc? If it's paid, what is the pay rate? 2) Are there any amenities or perks that we will have as an employee such as internet, propane, utilities, uniforms, pool access, golf carts or other vehicles? 3) What are the specifics of the RV site, length, hookups, etc, and where on the property is it located? (Google Map satellite view to get a good idea of the location). How much would that RV site typically rent for (so you can determine the value of the site tradeout) 4) If you have a pet, be sure to ask about pet rules. Same for kids if you are a family. 5) Will there be tools provided for the job (like if it's a maintenance position, or landscaping, or plumbing) 6) What is the length of the commitment? When does it start/end? 7) What are the expectations of the job? Are there things we will be doing that are not in the job description? 8) Do the managers live on-site? 9) Will I have to work weekends, nights, early mornings, or holidays? 10) What is the work schedule? This is just a start. The interview should not only be the employer interviewing you, but you interviewing the employer. You will be risking your time and money to travel to their location so just make sure to clarify anything you can think of. I promise you will come up with more questions to ask after taking a couple of jobs and realizing more things along the way. We have lists of questions and other great info the Article Index for members logged in at Workamper.com Our video about Work Agreements in our Media Library also results in good questions to ask an Employer.
Is there a phone number or email for "jeff" the person they said was the manager for the rv repair people at yellow stone. I am looking to work at yellow stone and am looking for a job that would utilize my trades skills so this is perfect
