Hello fruit family! I’m going to do a video documentation of All THE FRUITS. Msg me or comment below if you want you want me to review your fruit and add it to the video archive!
Word of advice guys, Do not ever take a bite of this fruit from a section were the buttons are not falling off on their own. This means it's not completely ripened and the raphides have not yet deteriorated. If you take a bite of the unripened fruit with an abundancy of raphides you're going to have a bad day. Just kind of remember it like if you pizza instead of french frying you going to have a bad day. Same thing.
Growing a Irwin now and started in a 3 gallon pot and now it moved up to a 7 gallon. Next year a 15. Its getting big and hope it will flower in the spring this year. Thanks for your review. You are right. Mangos in a 3 day window will taste different all three days. Sweeter on the the later side.
Bro! You're eating calcium needle crystals called oxolates. They are super dangerous to our bodies as we cannot process the crystals! I ate a toxic oxolate plant once and almost got hospitalized due to mt wind pipe nearly closing 100%. I was close to gasphing for air. My mouth was messed up for 2 or 3 weeks!
The peeling back isn't the only thing to look for in a ripening monstera fruit, the flesh needs to become much more colourful and soft. The skin can still peel back a lot from drying out or if the fruit was harvested WAY too early meaning that it will start peeling when still unripe. Make sure you get your fruit from peeps who harvested at the right time.
I'm bartender from Brazil and I love to eat Monstera fruit... For me, the flavor reminds me of banana and mango. There is one native fruit from BR called "Cajú" that have calcium oxalate too. Caju nuts are very very delicious, but it must be heated in the oven to lose the calcium oxalate. One time I eat natural cashews that were not cooked. The feeling is not good at all :)
Raw pineapple irritates my mouth and they say that monstera can do that to your mouth...both have that oxalytic acid. I can eat canned pineapple with no issue.
Best review so far! Everyone else was kinda talking in circles lol nice work! Do you feel as though you could eat a whole bowl as you would with grapes?
I would say the fridge changed the ripeness/flavor. I’ve never imagined doing that to a papaya… papaya, fig avocado…. All about the natural ripening… max flavor . Great video . Devils in the details with these fruits
Seeds are medicinal… anti parasitic . Planted 4 of these golden varieties… hopefully I can overwinter them successfully z I like this fruit for health benefits
If you eat before it's ripe eating it will hurt your throat. But it tastes like raspberry pineapple and mangoes get one if you never had it yum yum. Your not eating it right use tweezers you don't want to eat tblack.
Lmao! Sooo sorry! I had to LMAO because your reaction is Priceless and I was looking at mine today saying the same thing so that’s how I came to your video 😂😂. They’re actually Fabulous - when they’re fresh.
You flopped at the top part when you peeled those bits off they suppose to fall off like the bit almost to the middle piece Oh BTW some folk are more susceptible to low level of oxalic acid cheerio
That long pause after the first bite had me dying thank you so much for posting this i apologize you had to go through this and i totally understand why you may have thought this was ripe
That fruit was mostly ripe. I don't think the black fiber parts are an issue to eat, sometimes maybe it stings slightly. I wouldn't of peeled off the top part that didn't fall off softly just in case. I don't really know for sure, I have no expertise!! Great video 💙
