Radnorshire Wildlife Trust is one of 47 Wildlife Trusts across the UK and one of 6 Welsh Wildlife Trusts. We are a registered charity dependant on donations and the support of our members.
What do we do? We campaign for wildlife. We manage land for wildlife and welcome people onto our nature reserves. We share our passion and knowledge by working in education and within the community.
Very informative video, and so well presented by Emma Williams. I shall definitely take her advice and start submitting my fungi finds/photos on the LERC Wales app.
Such a fantastic project, and a wonderful example of collaboration in a community. I think that Sidney Nolan would have been very pleased to see a community garden being created at the Rodd. I very much look forward to seeing updates.
Nobody thinks to do this. That one tree is probably enough firewood for the entire winter for my house.... and that isn't including the massive trunk.... so it cna still grow back again eventually.....
I noticed at 2:00 mins the narrator talks about struggling to survive and then two lily beetles mating are shown. We don't want those invasive and destructive species to survive surely?
Really fantastic. I passed through there the other month having walked the Marteg from source. I really liked the will and intention to save this place and open it up to the public. It worked! Awesome place history, nature and all. Mark
That's impressive - love that. I was only there the other week hiking the river Merteg from source. I intend to go back to witness the Salmon run. Thanks for sharing. Mark
My partner and I lived at Gilfach for 14 yrs. We absoluetly loved all of it. For me the house was very special. I had coffee, tea and cake days 4 times a year. We raised over £6,000 for charity. My Partner was an expert on the wildlife At Gilfach. He discovered the Welsh Clearwing Moth, it was thought to be extinct until he discovered it. His knowledge of Gilfach was encyclopedic. Not only that but he still builds all the nest boxes to the present day.
