I happened to try these at my workplaces cafeteria and I was instantly hooked. Luckily the local walmart sells them for cheaper and I stocked up last week
the original toom is usually used as a spread in chicken sandwiches and chicken shawarma, its a Lebanese dip widely used in the middle east. next time get some Costco rotisserie chicken, some pita bread or Lebanese bread (if you have access to it) add some toom, chicken and sour pickles and some fries :) you can thank me later
a way to reuse old croissants for sure. sometimes it's good, but only when it gets crispy and fried... made a waffle pressed croissant at home, it's pretty good!
Also if ever in Mexico City, you gotta get a churro at el Moro. The best churro i've had in my life, i think. And i was completely stuffed after a food tour (this was the last stop).....blows disney churros out of the water.
We didn't know these even existed and the two of us thought you were not going to like them by your initial reaction. You guys need to check out Don Churros in Anaheim next time you are down there!
I love them both. Sardines on toast, or sardines with potatoes, or just sardines out of the tin with a fork. Anchovies are great too. I love them as a sandwich or in pasta.
