I seem to be going the other way. I have an 11” Pro but find I never use it-using my iPhone 15 Pro Max or MacBook Air 13”. I’m thinking of trading the Air and iPad in for a 16” MacBook Pro. I was watch this video to see if there a good reason to keep it. I have done some photo editing on it using Lightroom, and have taken notes using the Apple Pencil while watching a video. But having not used it in months, I’m not convinced I should keep it. Thanks for the video.
Changing profiles actually changes a few things - you can set up your app so each member of a household can use it with their own Apple TV account. When a user logs in, your app can access their preferences and GameCenter and iCloud data. If your app is also available on iOS or iPadOS, a user can pick up where they left off on their personal device as well. A great example is when I go to a friend or family member’s house with Apple TV I can select my profile and instantly continue watching started content or access apps that you may have subscription too that other users may not - apple music and other apps that support the User Management capability.
If I didn't already have a (current) Roku Ultra that does everything I want and need, and supports every video and audio format, I'd definitely consider an Apple TV with the only reluctance being that there are persistent rumours of a refresh this year. They do sound like excellent devices with a lot of features however.
I agree! I was actually thinking about making a follow up video about if people should hold off and wait for the new one that is supposed to come out soon.
Dude, thanks for your review. It is so easy to watch it. Seems like a lot of work of pre-processing and post-processing has been done. I praise you to continue doing what you do and for being useful to other people with your further reviews and honest opinions 🎉
I'm glad that you enjoyed it! A lot of work goes into making these videos and it's comments like yours that makes me want to keep making them. Thank you!
I’ve had one for a few years and have decided I will never not have one, I have a premium tv & the experience is fantastic only 2 things beat it: 1: Sony Pictures Core (native app & close to Blu ray 115Mbps) 2: my Blu ray player & media, it’s still King But the Apple tv 4k is still the best streamer & EVERYTHING looks great through it
You can change what the Apple "home" button does in settings so it doesn't open Apple TV but just goes home instead. So with RU-vid you would just reopen it again and carry on where you were.
Great Review ! I actually got the same exact spec with that usb-c pencil in silver . From your girlfriend's account , I can confirm the pencil takes a split second to connect to the iPad . But upon reading about this issue online , the pencil actually goes to sleep when magnetically docked to the iPad . So I face a 1 second delay for the Apple pencil to turn on , but after that it's smooth sailing from there. Unfortunately I don't think there's a fix for that because of the nature of the pencil itself . Other than that , i agree with everything you said :)
Thank you! I’m glad that you liked the review. That makes a lot of sense that the pencil goes into a sort of sleep mode when out on the magnet. I’ll have to keep that in mind. 😀
I’ve thought about getting one since I switched to iPhone about 4yr ago but love my Nvidia shield and my 2nd gen fire cube. I to have Alexa’s in my house and enjoy how they can control those streaming devices. The fact that the Apple TV cannot be sideloaded easily is the other main reason I just can’t get behind this device.
That’s a good question. I think that it’s personal preference. I did a review of the Samsung SA9+ and found it to be a great starter tablet. I think that going up the S9 FE is a great idea if you are wanting to stick with the Samsung eco system.
I have an air m1 and bought a pink 64gb wifi iPad 10 for my mom as a Mother’s Day present. I also got her the Apple Pencil usb c and I’m surprised how close the experience on her tablet is to mine. I kinda wish I had the iPad 10 for the better colors and value proposition. I also like the smart pins on the side. It makes it act a lot more like the old air 3 and pro 10.5. The floating Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air is very jank and clunky by comparison in my opinion.
I'm getting mine tomorrow, i have the s22 ultra, so im a little worried about the performance of it, but I mainly want it for the dex functionality. Also, that combine looks sick!
Best money i ever invest. Runs fast and smooth. No smart TV can Do that. I Do have sony and Samsung but Apple tv is the Best TV Operation system for me
I have a 55” LG Smart TV and I don’t like the streaming interface. That is why I am considering the Apple TV 4 K. I have an Amazon Fire Stick on one TV and two Google Chromecasts on my other two TVs. If I buy one I want wait and see if Apple will release a new one this year. Question: If you use a pair of Home Pods will they work in place of a sound bar when not using Apple TV? Thanks.
I love my Apple TV so much I have 5 of them around my house including one I use for my home cinema people ask where my blu-ray collection is for it and I have not bought one for years now I just get them from iTunes because they are half the price of 4k blu-rays plus they are released on to iTunes before into the shops plus it’s get better because you can also buy movies on iTunes that are still in the cinema now for about the same price as it would cost you to see the movie in imax but the only difference is I get to keep it unlike at the cinema
Sorry, I keep the film in the same pocket as the camera. I keep the film in the canister to make sure that there are no issues with it getting damaged.
I would have liked to hear your thoughts regarding the video and audio quality when using the Apple TV. I currently use a Roku Ultra that does a pretty good job but wondering whether the Apple device would be an upgrade. Thanks for doing the review.
From 0 - 100% it takes about 2.5 h but from 0-70% it takes about 1.5h. I think it is ok if you plug it in when you go to bed and the battery life itself makes up for the slower charging speed.
I am a non Apple user and do not own any apple devices. I would like to subscribe to Apple TV+ but they make it near impossible unless you are already locked into the apple ecosystem. So if they are going to be like this on a simple subscription service then there is no way in heck that I would buy an Apple TV device and risk having the same problems.
