This is the first video I've seen of this topic SHOWING how to rig this up, thank ya. Was lost trying to crimp butt connectors to tiny electronic wire haha. Then bought breadboard. Gotta get those soldering skills
I remember the Pioneer units had a problem with skipping. What causes that? I don't mess with CD players much. One I fixed yrs ago the disc was spinning too fast, found a pot to adjust the speed down and it played, I assume they use a marked disc and strobe to set speed. Most had loading drawer belt issues. I used to get them at Pawn shops for cheap not working. Got a Sony 200 disc changer at goodwill, the loading mechanism was out of whack, I think it got bent, I got it fixed and loading CDs fine. The CDs had to be clean and the grabber pads had to be clean, if you handled a cd and got skin oil on the edge it would slip away during loading and make a mess. You had to pull the cover and untangle the mess, and damaged CDs. Bad design Sony.
Have you found a source for the fusible resistors? and good quality replacement parts? I think I have about 20 amps and 20 TVs in my shop right now. I did the schooling yrs ago, now that I'm retired might as well get into it. I didn't forget much. I have seen some bad hack jobs, not on TVs but a lot on stereos.
I have a Pioneer DEH-P3700MP from 2005. I powered it up and it worked fine on the bench. Wired up my car for it and plugged it in and it worked great, but the next time I tried to use it it refused to power on. I couldn't get the CD to eject. Looking at the circuit board, the caps look to be fine. I found a service manual and schematics for this unit but it's way too much for me to understand. Any ideas?
Hey I’ve bought this awesome Equalizer. All works fine except the 1 KHz band of the spectrum Analyzer that always reach the maximum level. Can be the capacitor in one of this Ten drivers with transistor that you showed ? Hope you can help me. Max
I have one just like that. Mine has an On / Off only switch. No ability to switch polarity like yours. Mine needs a new fan, and new Nichicon capacitors on the power board, since the original output capacitors vented, and are bound to completely fail, trying to spin that fan. Fan is noisy as hell!!!
I just bought this and the regulator IC positive side burned within seconds , hooked up a 3 amp 12-0-12 supply, was the supply rating to high for this preamp or IC defective?
Am I right in thinking, that this can be plugged into the phono inputs on an integrated amplifier and a turntable can then be plugged into the vacuum tube buffer? So if I understand it correctly I would not waste the phono inputs on the amp, but I would be getting that tube sound!
I have the same amp ... it has no left speaker output ... looks like both inputs make it as far as the mono switch, but left meter and left output are dead. I'm a noob so still trying to figure it out. Any ideas where to start looking? Thanks. Good find, btw!
What happens if you add a 6 inch passive radiator? Also, would a 5 inch subwoofer make an improvement? If not, what's the specs for the speaker you used? Wattage, frequency response, sensitivity, and speaker model? How would I eliminate the port? Is it glued in?
sony cdx-gt420u cutting off power and restarting where it left off and if I don't turn the volume knob down it restarts again , is it possible the it's just old and when it overheats it does that, and should I put some fan inside it instead of cd player...? please help, thanx in advance...
I built this kit recently. What value capacitor would you recommend upgrading those 1000uf output caps to(I’m going to mount them off the board so physical size not an issue)?
I feel like this video might blow up now with gas prices so high. I don't sit an idle my truck anymore and I hate when I start it, the stereo cycles and takes like 10 seconds to get the BT going again.
I have the same unit that has no volume... Any idea what to look for? The volume button has always needed a little tapping on to make work properly. Is it a replaceable part?
