I've always had a hard time teaching this hernia as "self-care" technique, but it can be done. It''s most effective when performed standing to allow gravity to help glide the stomach down. I'll try and make a video but I think you're going to have to experiment to really get it... that's how I discovered it 35 years ago and still use it today.
I’m not a bodyworker but I’d volunteer to be the client for this trip! 😂 As someone with chronic pain & joint disorder and who gives accurate feedback, I’d be a great Guinea pig 😃
Thank you Erik. Would this be appropriate for a client with Apex Dextroscoliosis of lumbar spine, retrolisthesis of L2 on L3, degenerative changes in both SI joints?
I never apply downward pressure on a spine with a condition that ends in "listhesis." that indicates cracking of the pars interacularis and even though your client/patient's scoliotic spine is flat, I would be very careful even placing them in a prone position. Since the cure is to left (away from the heart), I would place them in a right sidelying position and gently work on getting length on the concave left side.
I am beside myself - beyond pain for the last five years. The mtp joint is fused, but not tip joint so all the weight of my gait goes on that joint. It’s incredibly painful and swollen.
If you cannot bend your big toe back-and-forth if you do not use the ball just before the big toe you have issues. When walking the back leg should be on the big toe connection launching you forward.
I'm 47 struck my coccyx 7years ago and have had back and CI joint problems since. My tailbone is stiff now it seems, is there however any way to correct it back and restore function? Inspiring to see you work, gave me some insight into how to try and treat myself.
That maneuver helps release any osteoarthritic buildup in the ligaments binging the femoroacetabular joint....very effective. Not meant to pull hard....just jostling the joint.
With this guy, I didn't have to hold the leg but in some you do... it's a bunch easier to do that it looks. Just gotta make sure they keep that bottom knee and hip flexed for it won't work.
Hi Erik I am from germany, 33 years old, male and have a hooked tailbone for years now. Maybe since my childhood. Last week i finally found a Osteopath who pushed the tailbone back in Position, but now it went back forwards. Is it normal to need more than one treatment? I'm total desperate
