Unless I am totally uneducated in this, and being that I have been a Stu Hamm fan ever since I first heard his playing, and being a bassist myself..... Stu Hamm is a regular studio bassist for Joe Satriani. Yes, I do agree that he has frequently played in live venues with Steve Vai. However, I attribute this due to Steve Vai and Joe Satriani playing gigs together in G3.

Satriani also surrounds himself with excellent technical musicians. Stu Hamm's bass playing gives Joe that trademark sound. Probably my favorite Satch songs and the ONLY L.P. I don't have of his. Ironic isn't it?
An older bro who lived close by was infatuated(?) by his music. Never heard of Joe and didn't care enough to listen to his music cause that bro's musical taste was kinda shitty. And then one summer night of '93 I saw this double album outside the record shop. Got dumped by some hottie(the only one I ever had..) so that inspired me to do the unusual. The moment the record was on and this 1st tune came out, my heart was no longer possessed by that bitch. ^^ 16 years of marriage and going strong!
