Thanks, this video really helped. Only issue I'm having is when I close the right door the bottom half of the door is getting caught on the left door, I have to give it a kick to close. Any ideas?
Very helpful. Looks quite easy. Will take cluster into Ottos in Brisbane for $130 to fix! I do however admire fixing it personally yourself, & may get adventurous another day. You are unbelievably like my brother in law in almost every way to watch talking, so much so I sent this video to my sister (in Warwick)!
I could have used a bit more vision to help. Taking off the door trim, taking off the hydraulic cylinder. Actually putting on the fitting points. And replacing everything. But overall it was helpful. Thanks
I have a 97 2 door starlet with 265000 km on the clock. Even when I bought it the clutch shuddered which was a problem because it was purchased for a learner car. Now it is a work car that I use to drive to the dairy so it is called the smelly car. It is a blue/ aqua colour and the clear coat is starting to peal as it stays outside all year round. It also has a rain journal that is lifted on the front left. Do you have any tips on what to use to anchor it down?
dear sir love your starlet build and parts so much . its just so enjoyful and appreciated . looking more project on starlet sir ..... thank you so much 😍🥰🤩😎
Very interesting, how about torque though? did you sea increase? did max torque REVs changed ? And what about low end torque? Did you changed throtle body after these?
Hey great video! I’m wondering if anyone knows how to adjust the idle on this exact ae82 I have one and I’m trying to adjust the idle but I’m a bit of a novice
Hey guys, need some help on this shed, as I am unable to drill into the metal rods within the side panels to fit the door hinges on. There is no predilled hole in those rods. The drill bit keeps spinning but doesn't pierce through. What should I do
❤ah starlet..Very underated in some countries..Here in Greece thousands of thousands still exist. No one sells them..Powerfull cars according with displacement.Unbreakable also..Of course i have one😂😂😂..Still with the original 90s atmosphere at nights..dull and somehow mystique😂😂..no led for me,no no.
Just did mine on a VE Commodore sedan boot....open the boot, screwdriver to pop the clip, new ones just push on...both sides done in less than a minute lol
any advice on how to get rid of the little red light on the dash that looks like a radiator bottle. I noticed on the video you took when you first got the car it was on. i saw that it has now disappeared once you changed the radiator. i switched over the overflow bottle on my 6cyl fairmont and cant get the night to go off ever since. Cheers
Hi dude had to replace the gogs in mine as odometer was not working but speedo was no ive done that and speedo would go and not go and when it does go so does the odometer but now speedo stoped work so odometer not work either any idea as to what my problem could be
So it doesn't seem too tired after all. It doesn't seem to burn lots of oil looking at the plugs. So why would you replace the engine? And when are you finally supercharging the starlet? That's why I subscribed initially...
I’m not replacing the engine. The car is getting scrapped. The car is hail damaged from 10cm hail. The windscreen is smashed. The hood and guards are damaged from roo hits. The headlights are held in with zip ties. Needs suspension. Plus there’s other issues. It’s not worth putting the money into. I’m still supercharging the white Starlet. Unfortunately it’s not a cheap undertaking when doing things properly. It’s take time to find the funds with bills, mortgage and a family. I’m getting there slowly.
@@GsAutosOh too bad. You can't safe em all! I'm looking forward to the supercharger project. It has been done so little. The 5EFE engine would be even more suitable. It has lower compression ratio and lower ref limit. A version of the 5E also came supercharged stock I believe. There are also people doing a 1.5 yaris tsport engine swap in the starlet. Some also supercharge those engines. Good luck with the scrap. Maybe you can make some money on parts...
