Business always picks up beginning in August after a slower summer. Guests are usually planning for school breaks, so school contacts, FB groups, etc. is a great place to look for air clients.
There are typically very good discounts for college students when traveling for school, like semester abroad. Please inquire with the program director for resources.
I originally speak spanish and worked as a customer service rep for a company that offers vacation packages for customers from the US that want to travel to the caribbean and I had to book flights in the GDS system and understood why travel agents dont like doing it, sometimes it can be complicated. Thanks to your video I remember a lot of vocabulary that I forgot as I resigned from the customer service position a year ago.

Airlines constantly change fares; it's like being in Vegas around a roulette wheel. As a CTC, MCC, DS highly trained and experienced, Professional Travel Agent Advisor for more than three decades, worked inside a brick and mortar, as an outside agent and with my own agency ,technology allows constant monitoring by each Airline whose first allegiance is to their highest paying guests, those with whom they have contracts (major businesses with high usage) and a few select travel industry suppliers. Getting a "best price" also depends on your criteria as to dates, departure times, destinations, type of equipment serving the area and even exchange rates. Just because someone got a 'great deal" doesn't mean they''get better pricing" -- not in today's marke -- the supplier knows all, sees all with high tech.
Great video for those who are just beginning to learn how to travel efficiently. It is worth saying however that even with GDS' such as Sabre and Amadeus, TA's will not always be able to get the best deal and that has been true for a while now, the public has access to almost everything that industry does, and in my experience travel agents are rarely able to match what an educated traveller has found.
