With a plenty of man handling, often times a little help from strangers and a lot praying. I have two huge cases coming back this time and prayer 🙏 is in motion! Lol
Take little trips first, watch a lot of travel videos. You can do it. My first solo trip after my separation had some small disasters but I just made sure to keep my attitude positive and that really helps.
I used to live in Vallauris which is in the south of France between Canne and Nice. Its a famous pottery where Picasso used to make pots. Also the ceramic little people and animals were for decorating cakes. Awesome finds.
Oh my what fantastic objects they all sure must have a great story to tell! Going to a flea market is exciting in itself but all the beautiful architecture and surroundings make it a A plus experience!!!Thanks for sharing
Vallauris is a small town in the South of France that has a long standing tradition of ceramics and had it's hey days in the 60s and 70s when Picasso settled there and studio scene exploded. The are many famous Vallauris artists including Roger Capron and you're right, the glaze reminiscent of the German fat lava technic from the 1960s. Great finds!
Fantastic video! The Kringwinkel in Antwerp was awesome. Great pieces at super prices. Must have been fun shopping there. Lille was overwhelming. It was such an amazing, huge event. It was fun seeing you navigate the market and see what you finally picked from all those fabulous items. Of course I loved that huge Bitossi. 😂 Gasped when I saw that and other stunning mcm pieces in your vlog. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. 🥰
It was! But it was so hard, as you know to pick and choose based on a suitcase. My gosh, right? Lille was so overwhelming and maybe not recommended for everyone but for hardcore vintage shoppers like you and me it was heaven. I was really happy with my finds for sure.
Great video Abigail, such a varity of beautiful objects, that brass swan + flowers little dish is an ashtray, have you noticed? I love the religious objects very much, being a Christian myself, I do cherish them. I think next time you could do with some company, a companion on your trip, but I do admite your spirit , travelling and navigating Europe on your own , you are such a great adventurous lady👌😍I wish I could hop on the plane and join you for some coffee and chit chat and going to the next flea market :)) I'm only in the UK.:) Safe travels Abigail 🤞🥰
Hello!! Yes, nowadays I call them Trinket trays since no one in the US smokes anymore. Surprisingly one of my viewers joined me in Brussels and Bruge and we had such a great time together. I did really enjoy having company and missed her when she left. Interestingly she grew up in England 🏴 where I will one day come for tea! ☕️ She’ll be in next weeks video.
Omgosh, that was amazing to watch! How in the world to pack all your finds when you're away? Each place you stay, do you bring all your previous finds? The marionette was fabulous. So so many amazing things, my mind would have been blown lol. Thanks for taking us along!
Wondering were that Kringwinkel was. Did not recognize it. Public transportation is still confusing for me and I live here 🙄. I went to Brugge this year. The vintage market. Really expensive in my opinion. But nice city
The vintage/fleemarket organised by Goe Gekregen in Antwerp is always a good one. Not very cheap but nice mid century modern designer stuff. Maybe not always interesting for resale here but the resalemarket looks so different in Amerika
Thank you so much!! It really challenged my current laptop with so many pictures and videos but I think it was worth it. Luckily I have a new faster, stronger laptop I ordered waiting for me at home.
What a wonderful video! You sure did purchase some fantastic vintage items! At 35:13, that item is not a sumo wrestler. It is a weeping Buddha. So happy that you are have such a great experience in Belgium!
I'm voting for that drool worthy red planter pot as my favorite. I know its too big, but wowza, how gorgeous. Love so many things. I guess you just need to buy what isnt normally found at home.
Thank you so much Abigail ❤ This tour is such a giant treat; you are making this feel real, and you are nice company! This series is so welcome; you are Calgon-taking-me-away from the grind!
@@AbigailsArtfulAbodeindeed it's a French tradition to eat these cakes on January 6th to celebrate the 3 kings who came to honor baby Jesus. If you find the "fève" in your slice of cake you get to wear the paper crown 👑
The man holding head in hands is known as a Weeping Buddha. I was gifted one done in ironwood. Thank you for taking us on your travels! It's so much fun to see all the places you see, as well as your home swaps!
