this is so fitting of the current political climate. a black woman was killed by white men and a black man quietly laments over her until a white woman draws the issue to general misogyny and another black woman’s voice that is grieving for her is drowned out until it’s too loud to ignore. this is our existence and i will continue to be too loud to ignore until change is made.
This song, and what happened to Sarah is very relevant now. We need to stop this shit. I am really fucking serious, I am sick and tired of the police murdering innocent people just because of their race. We need to tear down the police system and the government. We will not stop our rioting until police brutality stops. This is the shit that made Coalhouse snap.
perfect voice, but you look uncomfortable... you haven't thought out the blocking, why you're doing what you're doing and when to do it. You're not practicing in front of a mirror. You MUST. You're not coming off like you think you are in your head. The mirror will fix your rigid and uncomfortable stage presence. Also don't let that accompanist rush you. He follows YOU. You have such the voice. It's spot on, but want to hear that shy really come to its fullness, but the accompanist is rushing you through that and it's feels like a premature pull out.
This is the most beautiful ending to a show I’ve ever known. I always see it as he commits suicide and joins all of his favorite characters/actors in heaven.
