My biggest complaint is that you cant unlock new items, wich is just ridiculous, it feels like they just tought they were taking too long and they just gave out a shitty product
@@justmrkoala yes, in their discord yesterday they said they're working on it. I really think the game was about to get delayed from summer to fall but ended up releasing early anyway. It's clearly unfinished and I really suppose all their claims about proper made for VR interactions were displayed in the World of Assassination build for psvr 2. Meta probably pressured them to release before that announcement, but they need to wait for that build to be ready before bringing to Quest... too much fanboy hatred without understanding the complex politics and drama behind the scenes... I think it's coming and by years end Hitman on Quest will be in much better shape and about to get DLCs for the other missions. It would be too much to have a Quest game of about 90GB as you'd need at least double free space to install and that's a no go for 128GB Q3 and 3S models
I've played it a lot these past few days, even some cool multiplayer, and don't see any glitches. I need to try again on my old Q2 - last year it was fine already, tho evidently not as good looking as now on Q3
same as AC Nexus, Grid Legends, Green Hell and couple others - none with as much characters, lights, props and plain action and simulation... so, I cellshading was a good choice. Btw, AppSW is not dumb reprojection of previous frame, it effectively generates a new intermediary frame with objects moved from their computed motion vectors. In practice, it feels almost as smooth as native double the framerate. I like it, also saves battery. Some vocal minority hate it and complain at every opportunity. I'd like to see these people playing PS3 games back then and shitting their pants at every frame drop and screen tearing...
@@VRnamek Nexus looks far better. Textures, NPCs, lightning are all far superior so the choice to have ASW in that case I'm okay with. Just having a ton of ps2 quality NPCs in hitman is far less impressive.
@@robarmstrong5404 yes, it's what Meta funding and 3 years development by an experienced AAA studio with a decades old optimized engine can give you. Not same thing as a mini indie downgrading a previous pcvr port for mobile hardware. Besides there are not as big crowds in ACN nor dynamic lights. They can't remove stuff like that and still call it Hitman. They did what they needed and what was on budget and time for them. It's technically impressive on its own... Maybe they could optimize it with further updates, but I doubt there's any budget left or sales. Hitman VR has again been murdered in the marketplace by hatemen. They must be happy back at playing VR mini crapware...
@@6760yhl you have better graphics in games made for it, AC Nexus or Asgard's Wrath 2. But this is a port of a PS4-era game. It's fully there, but graphics need adjusting, mainly lower resolution meshes, simpler textures and no dynamic shadows. But it's impressive on its own for what's in place: you don't see dynamic lights like those in the majority of Quest games - not even muzzle flahes in shooters - or the intricate detail in close objects or as many props and characters around... all of that of course make even Quest 3 sweat... maybe it could look better if ported by experienced devs, like IOI themselves or Ubisoft. But the inside studio here is very clearly a bunch of very green interns. I doubt they even played Hitman before or knew what they were going into. They mentioned the psvr version but then it's pretty much the same...
@@social6077 the cellshading style does look pretty good in shiny places like this Dubai skyscraper. Less so in the oppressive mossy looks of Dartmoor which is mostly dark and cardboard trees don't help. Still, even with the overall downgrade, it is very impressive to see as much geometric detail and simulation running on Quest... and yes, I've played AC Nexus but that's Ubisoft with Meta money and long years in the making, not a small indie porting the IOI original point is: if you have no PC, this is your best bet and not half as bad on its own as ragetubers are painting it. They're comparing it with a game that requires a very expensive PC and even that they shat over it. So, don't mind them if you want to enjoy playing Hitman in VR...
can't you see for yourself? I was not displeased with the port to begin with - the cellshading looks good to me. There's less pop-in for stuff like big crowds that obvious gets in view easily, but minor stuff like cups and props in shelves are still much the same. Visually, the most distracting thing aside from the ugly trees in Dartmoor are incredibly low resolution jaggies in shadow boundaries - often just in one eye. I think it's an easy fix once they learn wherever they messed up. Controls still the same, love or hate it: no manual reloads, most actions like using poison or crowbar to open stuff are button actions, but aiming gun is still fully VR, with both hands even, as is punching, swinging melee weapons, throwing, climbing (tho you don't see your hands). Will they fix this? I don't think so, it's been there forever since psvr 1... anyway, game leaderboards are not online and I'm unsure if they plan it, but score is definitely there in your profile... Unsure if challenges are unlocking, some said they aren't but I took a look now and they demand a bit more playthrough than what I've been able to play so far... anyway, it's an awesome game with near infinite replayability given all the stories and events that unfold according to your actions... it's too good to play, the people ragebaiting don't like videogames - they want VR to be stupid little minigames and social sandboxes...

*I have played this game to death on Quest 3 & to a lesser extent the glorified DLC that is Retribution. I recently purchased a VR Ready gaming PC & have to admit the graphical jump is insane. I use Quest 3 exclusively for my PC these days & best part is. I'm pretty sure I hate the new cartoon style characters. That exchange at the beginning, with the character taking the book, was shockingly bad. I'm a huge fan of the original game. I was REALLY disappointed this didn't come to consoles... until now. It really has lost something in the move to 3D.
