I've camped there... Myself and two other riding buddies we were on adventure bikes riding the Smokey mountain 500, it was an awesome campground, some of the best coffee and bacon and eggs I've ever had, can't wait to do it again and hey y'all from Alabama
@@theH2experience looking to go hot tent camping with a friend. Can't decide between the rocdomus or the tegimen. Want to make sure we have room for two cots and gear as well as the stove. Don't want to be crowded.
@@richarddukeshire take a look at this one I did as well, I have 2 cots in there, it may give you a better Idea as to the room (It was a snow test but you kind of get the idea of room from a couple shots in the video). If you sit on the cots and store gear under them I think you could be okay. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QQ4h0eWGRYA.html&ab_channel=TheH%C2%B2Experience
It's a long one, but I wanted to get it all in there. I'm way behind but slowly catching up. Always awesome to get to paddle with you Sir! Much love! ❤️❤️
@@theH2experience better late than never man! Enjoyed watchin this from your perspective man. Always such a freakin’ special experience taking people down that for the first time, especially when it’s a step up run for’em. Stoked I got to be a part of it! Mucho love right back brother man 🤘 Hope to see you out on the water sooner rather than later
The little girl in the background is stealing the show! And seriously, the beard. Nice job with it. I need to up my game there. I have the HoverAir X1 and am taking it with my wife. We leave soon on a vacation to BVI where I plan on taking video of us on the different islands there, as well as a few shots in hover mode on our Catamaran while moored or at anchor. I know, I know, I won’t be letting it out over water. As long as it’s downward facing sensors see something to give it a sense of how high it is, it will be fine. The Catamaran is 42 feet long and probably thirty feet wide-plenty of surface space for a hover for sure. I won’t be flying it in any appreciable wind, that’s for sure. Seriously though, looking forward to putting it through its paces and creating a really nice video filled with memories of this beautiful, upcoming vacation!
You just got a follow from me Sir. There is just something positive about your channel. Nice to see how you have 329 followers. No, wait. That will make it 400!
I enjoyed watching that mostly relaxing and peaceful trip in a part of the country that I'm not likely to see. I appreciate the work all you RU-vid producers put in to get such shots on solo trips! I've also watched a number of videos from "Xander Budnick" and "Lost Lakes" channels here on RU-vid. Those lads go on some epic wilderness journeys up in Ontario, Canada. I like the remoteness and the big loops they are able to do up there. Some of the whitewater they run looks frankly scary though, at least it does to this old fart! You've probably seen a few of their productions too, but thought I'd mention the channels just in case you have not.
Thanks for watching, I also love those channels you mentioned they do amazing trips and adventures. As a family man I do not get out as often as I may like so into enjoy those other productions and live through them. I get out when I can and try to pass my hobbies along to others as well. Thank you again and have a great day!
@@theH2experience Thank you. I'll check in from time-to-time. I stumbled upon your channel when searching for more information on the Hover X1 "Selfie Camera" drone. You did a nice job on that, which lead to my watching two or three more of your videos. Take care, and keep up the videography and canoe trips!
This is great! If the old town was outfitted for whitewater and had bags and such then I do not see any reason not. A tube, now, that would be fantastic! No way they would let you but man it would be fun to try! Maybe you could use a tube and build your own boat and try that as they have an event, I think in October, every year where you build your own boat and try to make it down the comp channel!
@@theH2experience i may do that in october, the old town has no bags or sattle, its a flat water boat. My esquif zephyr does thougth it may come next time i come up there
@@oldreliable303 just be ready for it to get scratched if you hit anything. That concrete is tough on boats and gear. Let me know and maybe we can meet up.
Thank you! I am a member of the Facebook group as well and they made a post last week that there are a few scammers out there. So either use their official page or their Amazon page, that way you will have the 1 year warranty as well. Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you have any other questions, I'll do my best. Have a great day!
Just wanted to add a tips for any tipi tent users. There are adapters available that allows you to connect two poles (must be longer for obvious reasons) to make it a A-shape to eliminate center pole to maximize usable space. There are some 3rd party companies that makes it and some tent manufacturers make it for their own but tipi is a tipi, they all work.
First off, thank you very much for this video. This is the type of the video that is ACTUALLY useful, not those videos that talks about features only and call it a review. Hope to see more of these types of testing videos. OneTigris need to add damned snow snow skirts. Also, they should do what they do best and make a clone of A-Frame poles. Basically just like the ones from SnowTrekker hot tent. For those who want to priortize strong wind strength. Way it is,,, this tent is not safe in windy condition with hot stove running. Even more so due it being non-canvas. Also, instead of a internal ridgeline loop, it should have some sort of vents on top peak which can dual purpose to pass through a ridgeline so that user can place this over it. I think that would improve overall strength as well, again during high winds. Also, a youtuber who used to be in bed with OneTigris and also collaborated in designing this hot tent jumped shipped to be in with Pomoly bed have collaborated in a similar design hammock hot tent but using a canavas as well. Different name but something about the name feel similar, haha.
@@theH2experience yeah I'm in the process of deciding between the two tents. At first I was sold on this one but have jumped back and forth a few times. Your review has actually helped a lot and is one of the only useful reviews I've seen on either of these tents that isn't either just showing someone camping in it or a paid advertisement. I think I'll probably end up with the Tegimen.
the problem is, campsites usually don't have trees 12 to 15 feet apart. It pretty hard to set up when the only trees are all 20 to 30 feet apart, or you have to go into the bushes.
Agreed, that can be a pain. I have set this one up in a span that was around 20 - 25 ft, you just have to have the correct cordage but it can be a challenge at time!
Just found your channel. I picked up a danchel stainless stove and that led me here. Wondering how that stove is holding up and if you can give me some details on that camp table you were using.
Thanks for stopping by! Hey, I had some issues with it warping a bit on me. It is still usable but I just have to bend it in to shape a bit. Otherwise it has help up pretty nice still. I also have their Titanium stove, it has held up just as well with a bit less warping issues. The camp table was just a purchase I got off of Amazon, it has held up really well for me so far. Nice and fairly compact for boat or car camping, I would not recommend it for backpacking though. These are a fairly standard guy line set up, I just pull the tensioner nice and tight and adjust accordingly around the tent. Maybe your tensioners were not installed correctly from the factory. I have had that happen in the past and had to remove the tensioner from the lines and add them back the correct way.
You show how close the chimney gets to the cover flap. However, if you move your stove closer to the middle of the tent then the chimney will be angled away from that flap and provide a lot more clearance
Hi Heath. I was wondering about your pump and battery set up. Did you buy that as a kit or cobble it together? The dry box for the battery particularly caught my eye.
Hey man swimming is part of paddling, esp OC. I swim almost every run; always thankful that my group doesn't mind catching my boat. Keep paddling keep trying remember its supposed to be fun so have fun
Nice video, it was awesome to see and hear your thoughts from a canoeist point of view. I have a ton of runs down it on whitewater SUP and solo in my shredder, but I have been on the fence about padding a canoe down it.
i have one coming tomorrow and i'm totally pumped to try it out! only modification i know i'll be making so far is adding another webbing loop to the top center so i can attach and tension it to a single ridge line with prusics and carabiners and prevent middle sag. I have a feeling this tent/tarp will be appearing on my channel very soon!
Another great video. Would love to see the setups in a more in-depth manner. Time elapse in the initial is cool, but maybe getting specific footage of the step by step technique. Keep up the good work man!
For these single center pole designs, cut an old tennis ball in half and place it on top of pole/bag. Helps to spread down forces across a 3" area. Leaned this from an old trapper over 30 years ago
That's exactly what I was going to say,use a half squash ball. What's the best way to get a perfect circle when pegging out? Put it up today for first time, pegs in pegs out, pegs in pegs out😫
Imagine for a moment that this tent had an option for a lightweight simple internal frame for extra $$. One ridge pole and an "A" support at each end (extending from the peak to each bottom corner) all collapsible. The frame would be very similar to snowtrekker canvas tent frame, but it wouldn't have to be as robust due the lighter load/weight of nylon vs 7-10oz treated canvas. This would eliminate over HALF of the ridiculous amount of pegs (20!) and guy lines required to safely erect this tent in windy conditions, AND eliminate the need for two trees the right space apart. A lightweight wedge hot tent in rip-stop nylon (or taffeta)...game changer for winter and shoulder season camping/fishing/hunting.
@@theH2experience Thank you for that! I hope OneTigris will see this and hopefully consider investing in the r&d and offer this as an option. Fingers crossed!
