Hey great to hear you like the chair! What is it you would like to know? Transfers are the same as any other manual chair but if you have a specific question let us know and we can help. The footplates do not swing out. Check out our video of transferring the Phoenix i into the car. will attach a link ru-vid.comYZH6hcHWAVI?si=PYQcy2Zz_zRTa_oA
How?! I got my wheelchair today and I have no idea how you can push with one hand and go straight? Confuses me. I tried to figure it out today but couldn't. Well I figured out how to do wheelies (for a short while, 😅)

I have 37 years of experience in a wheelchair. And of all the smart devices i have seen in my life, this is by far the dumbest! This is not only unnecessary, but it will add more things that can go wrong and need fixing!
I think it looks amazing but it sounds a bit noisy. I am not sure if it is the wind or the chair that I am hearing. This chair could very well be the future for all power assists. Great product.
I spent 15 years in a wheelchair before I was fully able to work my way out, thankfully. This chair looks amazing; I'm happy such advancements are being made. Hope I never need another chair, however. 🤞
there are 12 levels of assist and 9 levels of braking within the power assist. For steep slopes you will need to still push but it is considerably easier than using a regular manual chair.
we have updated the control dial to a roll and press dial so you can continuously adjust the power depending on what level of assist or braking you require
good idea but you need to do something about the wheels. when you turn they scrape which means replacing or having to buy new bags or new wheels all the time not something people want to do.,
our wheels are omni wheels - they dont scrape they have rollers which allow the bags to follow you in every direction. We havent yet had a customer come back to us with worn out wheels and we have been selling these bags for many years now!
I had an Atto Sport scooter that had a powered front wheel. I went through a puddle and it died.. How have you dealt with water proofing on your design? atb :)
The front wheels are splash proof and good enough for bad weather and puddles. We do not recommend submerging them however if an environment occured that couldnt be avoided eg If for example you were to be in the situation where you had to go through flood water we would recommend switching off the assist and using the chair manually. After getting out of the water we would recommend drying the wheels completely before using again. We offer spare wheels when ordering so this would be a good time to switch to new ones whilst the old ones dried out.
* 2024 UPDATE* This is a prototype chair from 2020 which won the Toyota Mobility Unlimited Challenge. Adjustable COG is a feature we are still developing. This feature is not available on the Phoenix i Hybrid which is now available to order. The Phoenix i Hybrid features our integral front wheel power assist. Check it out here: www.phoenixinstinct.com/phoenix-i-wheelchair
I love in a rural area so roads are cement, rocks, dirt muddy, grass I would like to try the chair out. But I can imagen it's out of my financial reach
This is our Prototype chair that won the Toyota Mobility Challenge in 2020. Since then we have released the Phoenix i Hybrid with integral front wheel power assist. Adjustable COG is not a feature on this chair but is something we will continue to devleop. More info available on the Phoenix i Hybrid is available on our website: www.phoenixinstinct.com/phoenix-i-wheelchair
Distance really depends on what level of assist you are using and the environment you are using your chair in. The chair comes with 2 sizes of batteries - 4amp and 8amp. Range is never compromised when you have a spare battery charged with you. Should you run out of power you can use your chair like a regular manual chair :)
Thanks Marcos. We dont - you will need to be able to use both hands to activate the assist as it is push rim activated. You will also need to be able to steer the chair using the rear wheels. The Phoenix i is a manual chair with power assist built in.
@@marcosdamota7926 Hello, we have done some further testing and it may be possible. A possible obstacle would be if you wanted to turn the opposite way to the wheel you are propelling - you would need to do a 180° turn. You would likely need to try this out before we could confirm if it will work for you. If you are on our contact list we will provide you with more information about this when the chair is available.
You cant order them anywhere yet! We will be able to ship to you in the US once the chair is available for market. For more info on this please fill in the contact form on our website via the link on this video and we will send over some more info!
you will be able to order through us. We can ship directly to US customers. Fill in our contact form on the website and we will send over some more info on how this will work!
This is our founder Andrew who is the creator of the Phoenix i Hybrid. At the moment he is the only one with a Phoenix i Hybrid. He has been using it for over 12 months now and has travelled to the other side of the world. As people begin to get their own Phoenix i's im sure you will see them using it too.
@@PhoenixInstinctLtd of course. Thanks. I’ve been following Andrew online for years and am grateful for his perseverance! I only wondered if Andrew would put together a volunteer team of users to demonstrate along with him.
