This is my favorite film…. it has since I was a pre-teen and the thing is that… this version your watching is a little different because, this version is not the original version because this one has deleted scenes that where added because when Sofia Coppola had her daughter when she had read the book…. Her and the students had asked Francis why aren’t the parts of the book be in the movie and that’s when he did his own directors version with the deleted scenes like we are watching from the movie review. Like here’s the thing….the Dally we don’t know much about the character until we see more about him yeah he breaks the law but that’s because he’s doesn’t care and also disregards the law and doesn’t like the cops but know them well enough cause he’s been put himself into jail more than once, then gets asked to come the police station if he knew any whereabouts about Johnny and Ponyboy from the that night when Leif Garrett’s character gets killed…. for close to killing Ponyboy cause of the reason that Diane Lane refuses to go with them cause of the fact that they’re drunk and she wasn’t having it with her boyfriend being drunk…. and the other friends too because, they weren’t in the right state of mind to do what they did…..but still so that’s how the argument escalated earlier in the part. And the other thing too is that…. the fact that Cherry….. likes Matt Dillion aka Dallas Winston she’s teasing him but won’t admit she likes him till after he leaves, and the other thing to for the premise of the movie that he was in his 20’s in the movie tho he was a few yrs younger in real life when he was 18 so basically he had like a rebellious teenager troubled youth from almost like he had no one who cared and even mentions it in the movie. So I have some sympathy for the character.
Ok but does anyone else find it SO funny that at the part when the teacher asks him to write the paper to improve his grade, he says it can be about a personal experience, and instead of first considering all the deep shit he just went through as his topic, his first idea is “I’ll write about my first trip to the zoo” 🤣 I find it so funny for no reason
