Nice selection; the Billy-Ray Belcourt one looks interesting. Just as an idea / bit of advice from a viewers perspective: maybe list out the books in the description and / or mark the timeline with chapters. That would make it easier to look them up in parallel.
When his cast came off he had to clean off the dead skin that accumulated under the cast. Dead skin sheds off of us all the time. We just don’t notice it bc it’s at a micro amount all the time. When you have a cast it can’t fall off so it cakes on. Best way to take it off is to soak it. In a container or bucket and then slowly exfoliate I with a loofa or skin brush.
Fabulous to have you back, you've been missed. Love your engaging vlog style booktube format. Please try not to disappear abruptly, especially unexplained. Have a great vacation and looking forward to seeing some footage of your city break.
ummm I'm like 250 pages into Devil House and had to look up reviews/explanations immediately because I am so confused ahaha like I thought I was picking up a spooky horror following a true crime writer delving deeper into a project he's working on by moving into a "haunted" space... and like wow anytime I think I'm finally following the story I get confused again it's making me sad because I was so excited to pick this one up :/
I have to admit, it was oddly adorable watching you trying to talk about Grady's book with an adorable pet trying desperately to get you to play with them! Really enjoyed your video <3
I just finished "Devil House" by John Darnielle and, I had to go straight to reading/watching some reviews to see if anyone was as lost as me. I'm honestly surprised you were able to form a review for this very lack luster book because, when I was finished all I can say is "What was the point?" The segments written in ye olde English I straight up just skipped from being so bored from it and, It had nothing to do with anything. Anyways, nice video man!
Hello, I don't know if you see this comment but I broke my right hand, I mean inside I broke my scaphoid bone. That happened last February 4th and I have my third cast on, how long do you think it will take to heal?
“To prove how noble he is for cheating.” Tell me you completely misunderstood the book without explicitly saying it. It’s ironic that you say it’s a pretentious book to make people think they’re smart, when you’re the one condescendingly talking down to people that enjoy it. “It didn’t need to be this philosophical.” That’s like saying House of Cards “didn’t need to be that political.” It’s the entire point of the book.
Hi, err...I thought you were running a couple of months behind until I realised this post was made up 2 months' of short clips. I like what you said about leaving the interest of lightweight writing behind. There's so much weighty, worthy books that deserve the wider publicity critical thinking booktubers can offer. Keep up the good work and please try not to leave it so long....
Good choices. Great to see Bluebs as ever.. Just started the Smallwood. I want to like Samantha Shannon's books shes a lovely girl who i've met lots of times since she launched her first book at my local bookstore but they are just too damn big. I managed to get through the first 3 Bone Season on audio and I do have Priory on Kindle as it would be impossibly uncomfortable to read as a physical but it puts me off. I know these are huge stories and contain a lot of world building but can;t help but feel she needs an editor who is not afraid to tell her to cut 300 pages off every book.. I mean 600 would be enough surely.
I love this format! Feels like your unrefined thoughts on each book, considering you just finished it. And I love that you're in conversation with the book in the moment. I'm here from discord and I didn't know you're the same person I follow on insta 😂❤️❤️
I enjoyed your bookshelf tour. I'm sorry you didn't care for Ready Player One. I was a teen and young twenty-something in the 80s, and that book tickled me no end. A very interesting collection of books.
Wow I seem to be the only one who is actually impressed that Dua Lipa has such a great taste LOL. I did not love The Underground Railroad, but I loved the other books and I loved The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead.
This is a great challenge! I never take my phone with me into the bedroom. Also I usually put it into another room while reading. But I also don't even have an TikTok account and deleted my Twitter one, so it would be probably much easier for me to do this challenge. 😂
