@@jaystrass8608 Hi, I have the Gas Mask LP. Must have been definitely a great time for you to play with such a legend like Enrico Rava, one of the best Jazz trumpet players ever. Huge fan of his music. Have nearly all his records. Greetings and all the best from Germany.

My uncle Frank Vicari played sax and flute and I was lucky to see the and live when just 19 years old, I have many memories of him and meeting musician's from some of the bands he was a member of.I'm 63 now and so thankful to those who shared this music on youtube, the band White Elephant,David Matthews Big Band and Tom Waits are some of the other bands I saw Frank play live music with,he passed away several but can still see him on video from when he was with Tom Waits.
Schuyler is my brother. He has passed also. I'm 60 and was only 12 when it came out but I sure do remember those days. Sitting around my big bro's picnic table at his farm in PA eating burgers and dogs with Frank Zappa, and so much more! I used to call him Unkie Frankie for Christ's sake! And Tom, and Sly and, and, and well, you know. Hope all is well with you. I'm truckin' down memory lane tonight
Jay strass Thanks for your message, I visited Frank in St.Thomas took my Grandmother on vacation with me she was my mom’s mother. I guess we may have met if you were there then my uncle Frank was also like a close friend as I got to know him when I was 17 and visited him often at N.Y.C and throughout my career as a merchant seaman a few ships I worked on visited the area and saw him. I still listen to him playing or see him in a video from his time with Tom Waits
Also on an EMI Music For Pleasure (trio series) cassette I have called '50 Hammond Organ Favourites'. Features all the tracks of 'I Feel Fine, I Feel Funky' in a different order!
What a thrill to find this wonderful music. The vocals are by Schuylar "Sky" Ford. Sky, wife Gail and their beautiful daughter "Milky" were my dear friends for many years. I love them still. In the mid 70’s they lived in a farmhouse located near Pittsburgh, PA. There was a horse stable on the property which Sky and Gail managed. I was an extremely troubled 14 year old when I moved my horse into their stable. Regardless of my awkward pain, Sky and Gail loved me. Sky offered and I accepted a job cleaning stables. That may be unappealing to you. But to me it meant someone trusted and believed in me. So much so that I would be responsible for the wellbeing of horses. Horses that owners adored, and considered their most precious possessions. I can't possibly express my gratitude for that love and trust. It was life changing. I was heartbroken to learn Sky passed in 2001. God bless Sky. Gail I wish you all the peace and love the world has to offer, because you deserve it. Best Wishes. Bob K.
How sweet and funky! Nice harmony! Never heard this group! Only here i would find such a tasty groove! Some dont have the patience or knowledge to find this stuff and those world funk compilations are hit and miss. We do know if we like something, but then we realize we can't have it all.Like Roy Ayers said," Life is just a moment"!
I like some of the grooves on your channel. That Gotham was dope and i love the Ashantis track. I'm a digger and funk lover as well. This remix is cool. The funky loop in this track is familiar, but it slips me. Feel free to reply if you get this comment soon. I'll look up your site.
A deep treasure from the Motown vaults. Despite The classic Motown sound, in the late 60s the label was just starting to experiment with funky soul & the psychadelic/funk music of Norman whitfield's productions(temps, undisputed truth, rare earth) & also Stevie wonder's granted artistic freedom. Motown had several subsidary labels, and among them were Rare earth(the label and band) & Natural resources label;the output was experimental but interesting vehicles for alternative music & reissues.
