Welcome to The Orsterra Records, a database of cutscenes and stories told within the mobile game Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent. This channel covers everything, from the Main Story, Traveler stories, and even some cutscenes from the Memoirs!
Here is some additional information on how these stories are recorded: - Ringbearer Chosen: Stead (While not officially "canon", he's one of my favorite characters. He sort of works in the role too, albeit in an unconventional way.) - I am playing on the NA version of the game. - I do not record with voice acting on. The lack of VA gives the game a more retro feel, but I wish there was an EN VA. - When an option is present, I will always choose "No" first. (It usually leads nowhere, but it's nice to see how you're looped into agreeing.) - I'm a novice at recording.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it too... I suppose lowering the tint of the scene was meant to make it seem like it was set at night? Maybe...?
Is this game similar to the consolr titles? I just got done getting the platinum trophy for both of them and am on a high for those games right now. Is it worth the time?
Hm, great question! As somebody who has played and loved both games, I would say that COTC is more of a "spin-off" that does share most of the backbone of the originals. The gameplay requires you to wear down the shields of the enemies, and you can use path actions to obtain items for your party. However, I would say it does feel quite different from a mainline Octopath entry. For starters, you have a party of 8 travelers instead of 4, and are only limited to three path actions. The story is also much more mature in subject matter (to degrees I have to give warnings on videos... xD), and more or less focuses on the journey and stories of one character (the Ringbearer Chosen) in comparison to the intertwining stories of eight travelers. As it is also a gacha game, you will be relaying on "guiding" (pulling) for characters, instead of having a set 8 to play from. I am a light spender for what I record, but I was able to do just fine with original (and still) free-to-play account. Overall, I would say it definitely is worth a try if you are interested in the series. :) After all, that's why I'm recording this game! If you are interested, I believe the anniversary is coming up somewhat soon so that might be a great time to join.
The plan is hopefully to get it to it, but I'm mostly focusing on content within the Master's storyline for now. (This includes Traveler stories, which are going to take a bit.) I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that the game continues at least a little bit longer so I can record them though!
@@TheOrsterraRecords I think the game is doing alright, so I doubt EoS is incoming, but square did shut down like 3 gachas recently. Either way, thanks for recording all of these.
Thank you for the replay! I was taking a little break since I had a pretty chaotic week. :) Yes, I will be planning to upload that hunt today or tomorrow, so please look out for it. (I will let you know that I will probably not be able to complete the LV.90 hunt or EX fights since I'm still under leveled myself. xD)
@@TheOrsterraRecords ah i see, that's totally fine, don't worry about the lv 90 hunt or ex, my issue was that i just couldn't get to fight 9S on the second hunt but thanks, i will be looking foward to your next vid :D
I searched long for an walktrough in this game mostly because i dont want to play another mobile game. I will likely watch the entire playlist 👍🏻 thumb up for this work
Thank you for the comment! Trust me, I definitely know the feeling of not wanting to pick up another mobile game, so I am glad that this is a way for you to experience Octopath COTC!
@@TheOrsterraRecords the main readon is because this game is only the past of octopath traveler and i already know what will happen in the future line.
You're welcome! :) Hopefully I'll at least have enough time to record everything before that day comes. (Or at least get an offline version of the game. One can hope!)
Thank you! It was actually my intention to get Millard due to him being the closest thing to Stead. But since I started around the 1st Anniversary and with the advent of the Codex of Salvation, it probably didn't matter who I was going to get. Oh well!
Mmm... I'm not sure since I play on the Global (NA) version. I know that you need to complete "The Selfish Artist" Nameless Town quest first before it's unlocked though.
I've already completed "the selfish artist" quest, yet this quest doesn't work in SEA. I think this quest need update first. But the rest of quest like kota blacksmith and the shepherd is Accessible in SEA.
Interesting... This might be an error on SEA's part then. You might want to reach out to their feedback/customer support to report this. (I apologize that I can't help any further...)
I believe it is blocked for now. For where I am at in the story, it is probably locked until another questline opens up. The interesting thing is that the Tower does state there are some treasure chests inside... but I am not sure yet. My apologies!
My apologies! I took a bit of a hiatus because I was busy with other things in my life. I won't be uploading as frequently now, but I'll try and make an effort to record more minor events whenever they appear!
Ha ha, yep! Since the Anniversary allowed you to choose a 5-star general pool character of your choice, I decided to go with him since he is one of my favorite.
