Hey! I use a regular sugar cookie recipe because I LOVE chewy sugar cookies. So, yes, my recipe spreads and doesn't hold its shape like other recipes but I make that up in the decorating. I just love the way this recipe tastes and so do my customers. :)
Erin Morgan I use royal icing. It dries completely hard which makes the design stay perfect! I would consume the cookies within a couple days if u store it in a Tupperware container.
Aimee Lauder hey! Thank you! Yes, I have had that problem. I've noticed that it doesn't happen has much if I let each color dry completely. To be honest it didn't happen in this design but it has happened before. I also add more meringue powder to my darker colors.
It's hot here in Georgia too! I sometimes put a heater set to 86 on them and they dry even quicker. I don't cover them. If I'm just icing on them and if I'm really careful I can wait 30 minutes or so. If I'm painting or putting more pressure on them, I let them try fully.
What is 10 to 15 second consistency royal icing? I am not familiar with using this type of frosting. I usually use buttercream, so any help you can give me is appreciated. Your cookies are absolutely beautiful and I want to try to make these for a baby shower. Thanks! :)
Ralph Griffith hey! When you make a batch of royal icing you add water to it. Add enough so when u drizzle it on top of itself the drizzle goes away after 10-15 seconds.
Hey! I use Americolor Super Black and it works great! Sometimes I add in a little extra meringue powder to stiffen it since I have to add a lot of black.
