Brilliant song, what a waste of so many young innocent lives.

this song has always haunted me ever since I saw the documentary shot at dawn which can be found on youtube. Listening to it now in 2020 over a century later and I am still reminded that there were so many young men and boys, fathers and sons who never came back :-(

Thank you so much. This song has haunted me since a trip to the museum in 1998. Tonight I found it here. Tomorrow marks 100 years since he beginning of the Somme battle. How apt.
