I do this with all the rifles I can. It works even better if you can clamp it into a tripod. I once did a bore sight on an upper, and when I fired the 1st group on paper, I thought I missed, but I stacked 3 rounds in the center. 2 in the same whole and one just to the right of those 2. Save yourself the time, money, sanity by doing this before zeroing.

There is a reason many people carry snubs for bear guns. That extra barrel length slows the draw and aiming down. Yeah you lose velocity but you get more shots off. Also you wouldn't want hollows, you want hard cast bullets for penetration.

Curious why you would zero a precision gasser at 100m and not 200m. I know it's the most common but it's not the most logical for 5.56

Just received mine today and set it up. Man it is a challenge to withdraw the holster. I'm going to keep it like it his now for a few days and practice. I may need to heat it up to loosen it a bit. I think the challenge for me is that it feels like I'm pulling out at 45 degree angle when it should be "straight" out. Not sure but it's tough to pull it out at present. It would help if I lose some weight too! Ha.

I live in Wyoming and attended the game and fish bear clinics, wind affects bear spray along with humidity and or rain. During the bear clinic they told us a story about a experienced hunter that was jumped from behind, his rifle was shouldered on a sling, he couldn't employ his rifle, nor would he have been able to employ a pistol in a chest rig with the full weight of the bear pinning him to the ground. The hunter wasn't being hurt because the bear was tearing at his pack, he eventually got to his bear spray, buried his face in his other arm. And blastedthe spry over his shoulder ending the attack. I always carry bear spray and a 10mm, however the pistol isn't in a chest rig, I carry it in a thigh holster. I'm not saying one carry position is better than any other, just something to think about

The concept of this bullet might be "fine' for law enforcement, but it's diabolical for home and self defense. The REASON we carry hollow point is such that it is less likely to go through walls and doors should a round miss the intended target. The nerd in me finds the round situationally interesting. The human in me is very concerned.

I'd like to see comparisons against ammo that actually meets the FBI test protocols. Critical Defense is notorious for underperforming. I'd like to see the G9 product put up against Federal HSTs, Speer Gold Dots, or Winchester Ranger-Ts.

At the beginning of the video you mention over penetration, which is one of the reasons why hollow points were developed. It seems that no matter what you shoot at you will have over penetration. At 18" deep, on a human, you are over penetrating. Most humans are only 10 or 11" thick at the chest, and your heart is half that deep. What happens at 10" penetration to another gel block behind it? Enough remaining energy to penetrate another human? I would love to see that test.

On average, when you shoot through a windshield. If you measure the distance between the windshield and the driver you will get about a 2-inch drop and where it hits the person given the distance between the windshield and the driver in in normal automobile because you have a further distance between that windshield and the actual target, you got a few more inches than that and drop with both rounds.
@44hawk28
@44hawk28 15 дней назад
I will comment that it appears that you have the largest permanent wound cavity I've ever seen from a round of this design. It still is not superlative, but it is respectable.
@44hawk28
@44hawk28 15 дней назад
It shoots a lot like the Lehigh defense which has always over penetrated. On the rare occasion that I carry a 9 mm. I carry one with a 4 and a half inch barrel to get as much velocity as I can and I always try to use Speer Gold Dot with a minimum of a plus P round. When I can get plus P plus I prefer that. My carry gun for years was a 357 Magnum with a 4-inch Barrel it is still the best first shot fight stopper and the second highest Firepower weapon that exists. Because Firepower is actually a percentage of how many rounds are fired ratioed against how many rounds took effect that's the definition of Firepower. As good as 9 mm has gotten over the last 15 years, it is still minimal at best
@44hawk28
@44hawk28 15 дней назад
I have a couple of observations because I've been dealing with shooting for a long long time, longer than the age of any of the guys in this video. I've been teaching shooting since 1970. I used to scour through actual shooting reports like Evan Marshall used to put together to find out which rounds were actually stopping gun fights. My first observation is that that temporary wound cavity that you show is not what stops gunfights. Because even at 1500 feet per second, you do not have enough hydrostatic action to actually cause a permanent wound cavity. Permanent wound cavity is the only mechanism by which pistol rounds are capable of reliably stopping many people's behavior. The other problem I have is that it is already over penetrating. I am not impressed with the FBI's assertion that when you shoot it into gelatin you get the same effect from 9 mm as you do from 40 Smith or 357 Magnum or any other cartridges. That just isn't so in real life. That's why bullets that fragment can frequently be quite good showstoppers. 357 Magnum 125 grain hollow point running about 1400 ft per second is still the best first shot fight stopper on the planet. When you start using 40 Smith 357 Magnum 45 and 357 Sig 38 Super and the like and test that test something other than just the gelatin, because I've never worried about being attacked by a bowl of jello. Like even on Cinder block. A 40 Smith on cinder block is almost twice as effective has the best 9mm. I have no doubt that you're getting consistent performance. I just find the performance I will give you this though. This is one of the best performing rounds like this that I have seen several years ago when somebody cut some solid copper or bronze rounds with a spike on it that literally just pushed everything to the side. That was actually a pretty good round. But it also goes through body armor which makes it illegal
