Very informative, thank you! I mainly keep New Caledonian geckos, but have been so fascinated by all the amazing colors & phenotypes in Leos. I may end up getting one at some point and found this helpful.
I dislike the chore of a water dish , so , i go with filtered ponds Take 2 dollar store plastic shoeboxes One to hold the place in the just as deep substrate And one you can frain and slip out to clean A small submersable filter or the dribble mouth turtle pond type of filter keeps it healthy Rest of enclosure filled with substrate and decor Low maintenance
Hours and hours offering rat tail sections, pinky heads, over and over until you fear for your sanity! It sits on it's perch, so pretty, such big innocent eyes, looking for all the world like it will happily wolf down the yummy pinky parts, all you have to do is offer it on the forceps, right? It tongues the pinky head, here it goes you think, and all your friends warned you "don't breed arboreals! The babies are so small, you'll never get them to eat!" What drivel. Obviously they don't know a thing! But then, after a while, you've lost track of how many strikes with no holding of the pinky, but it's only a matter of time..... then that little mouth slams shut like a bank vault, or your wife's legs on Friday night after 15 years of marriage.....What was that you saw? Did the little b*st*rd smile?? Then it hits you! They were right, those friends of yours. And you wish you had listened. Eventually they will eat, and grow, and have babies, beautiful little jewels and It's been so long since their parents tormented you... You cut the rat tails up, sever the pinky's heads and you happen to look over at one of the sparkling little bug eyed, big headed little jewels, and you could have sworn you saw it smile....
That is a drop dead gorgeous snake! Wow never seen this species before, and it’s full of attitude! Very informative and educational video, well done, you have gained a subscriber!
I've heard such mixed ideas on heating needs for a ball python. They say heat mats are dangerous and to use overhead heating. My breeder said to use a mat..I just want to do it right. Could I use a basking lamp in the day and ceramic at night or just use a mat?
6:08 this is the one i want when i can get a snake. But i am nervous about how some people say they can be hard to feed thawed mice too cause it would be my first.
Coil UVB's aren't very effective. A tube UVB is best which covers much more of the enclosure; especially the likes of a 4x2x2. 2x 75w heat lights are also optimal for the basking spot.
So you say T - can only be blue eye. I bought a t+ but it looks hypo. Idk I just got him from a local store. He has blue eyes. My t- only have red eyes but this guy has blue eyes. I wonder if he was mislabeled and I totally scored lol.
I have a cornsnake, and I have minimal things in their tank, but everything needed for a cornsnake. I do want to upgrade the things inside the tank, though, like a small branch for her to climb on because shes always climbing around the top of her tank. Anything that I've tried to put in her tank before aside from whats already in her tank has ruined her scales causing them to lift and fall off. So I'll look for better things that won't cause this lifting of her scales.
On facebook for Instagram we saw that we thought it was bearded dragons tank But it was really a snake tank we thought it was all wrong the hammock was right under the heat lamp there was 1 big clock in the middle Is that the set up for snakes cause this video isn't making any sense I want a video that shows how to set up a tank for all snakes! Is that the set up for snakes cause this video isn't making any sense I want a video that shows how to set up a tank for all snakes! They will only get the uv when basking and they don't lay in the basking spot all day. Uv light should go across the tank so the get uv light all day . Basking temp shoud be about 40 -42 c
