Triple Crossing, The Veil, Vasen AND MEKONG!!!! Hardywood makes one good beer, their stout. Apparently the don't know how to make a decent IPA, they're all garbage.
Just got mine and I'm anxious to use it ... I've got the same IPA you have as well as the stout. I lean toward the darker stuff. I plan to film a similar video to this comparing and contrasting our other homebrew tutorials with the kettle, wort chiller, fermenter, etc ... should be a lot of fun
Love it! It was actually like insanely easy. I'm thinking with a few tweaks it could be even better - I'd suggest not to use tap water (use some sort of filtered, packaged water). My fridge wouldn't fit the cask but if you can swing it, that'd be perfect. It's really fun and such a cool and easy way to get into home brewing. Let us know how you go!
Would love to see a Top 10 most mind-blowing individual Ontario beers of the year. Scroll through your Untapped and give a shout out to the ones that stood out. So far for 2024 I think Rive Sud (Fine Balance/Le Ketch), Chaotic Summer (Badlands), and Sweetie (All My Friends) are jumping out at me!

I found that Oddbird Brewing's ESB is apparently great. This is a list of some of the best breweries in NJ, and each of these spots would definitely have some sort of English-style ale, whether it's an ESB, Porter, Mild or Bitter: www.hopculture.com/best-breweries-new-jersey/. Remember that craft beer does not equal hoppy beer - many craft breweries make spectacular English ales!

It's OK to not like everything but to falsely equate craft beer with specific styles is inauthentic and illogical. I'd put money on it that most of the beers you drink are craft.

@@johnbanco862 A few things. Craft beer is more than IPAs - there are hundreds of styles. Craft = small producers. You're confusing craft with West Coast IPAs. which are bitter and resinous. Also ales aren't lagered, and almost all lagers are lagered for 6-12 weeks. The craft English ales I could suggest would all depend on where you're located. Let me know a region and I'll suggest some.
IPAs taste like grass clippings and mulch and everyone gaslights themselves and everyone else into thinking it tastes good so they can have an identity.
Big time episode. Happy to say I have had Del Boca Vista and it was glorious, special no thanks to my friend who spilt my last can. Devastating. Probably the best moment of the episode was when Jacob commented on the Sens losing. Pretty sure they got pummeled by Anaheim during the recording, brutal loss. Go Sens Go.

I have a ridiculous nano home brew setup, glycol chillers, stainless, the whole nice. But I'm with you, man it's a lot of work. I saw this little guy a while back, kinda thought meh, but actually it really is quite appealing. I haven't brewed in months due to being busy, this would be a nice in between. Stoked if they start to move into the Canadian market.
It def is a lot of work, just reading that list of equipment was a lot lol. This definitely is perfect for that situation, when you wanna brew but want minimal hassle. They actually did launch in Canada, they were able to ship it to me here, the app is just on the way. So you should be able to order if you're keen!
Derrick is a really chill guy. I'm a few years into my craft beer journey and BreWskey still have my favorite IPAs... There's just something about them. Great podcast, cheers guys

HUGE fan of Badlands. There every Friday. My favorite beers Badlands released in the last year are Riri, Evolve or Die, Cashbro (insane!), and I loved the October DIPA and Boo! Bike Tree was also right up there.
Hell yeah! Every Friday is a winning move. Riri was spectacular, I think it took out some decent awards on the recent Untappd Community thing. Every one of those beers was killer, I don't even recall a mid Badlands brew. Cheers, legend! 🍻
Great episode (as always). Andrew seems like one of the many quality guys in the industry. Their sorbet series might be my favorite sour series. Can't wait to see what they come up with this year.

Can relate to Nathan's comment about no longer being blown away by super-hyped USA beers. I recently got some Foam and Freak Folk from down in Vermont, and just couldn't help but think "meh, Fine Balance is just as good if not better" :)
It's kinda crazy eh? It's like all of our expectations are flipped now because what we have in our own backyard is legit world class (not that it wasn't great before, it just got better). I tried to hit Freak Folk last summer but missed them, maybe I won't go out of my way lol. Cheers Dustin!
Have you even had Badlands? They're legit the best haze brewery on the planet. This is an incredibly ignorant comment, so my guess is you're not even a craft beer drinker.
