Phonelink does the same for your phone. It's unbelievable how few people actually use Windows features while they are there, fully intergrated and ready to use lol. It does all the things you said apple does and MORE with any Android device you like. Mac is really made for the extreme stupid who don't understand a single thing. I've been working on a Macbook (forced at work) for a month now, it's a mess which spams you with 100 applications and closing apps doesn't even close it. You got to go to the damn icon and right click, then close it. And why do I need to drag the damn icon to the app folder if I want to install? I already went to the process, install the damn thing already. And don't even get me started on programming on it using xampp. It was more difficult to set it up then on freakin' Arch Linux.
I can’t use those “windows” monitors after being used to Mac 🖥️ screens, the resolution is just shite. Icon view is the first thing you change on the finders column view or nothing .
Firstly whatever you plug in is shown on the side bar of your finder. sorry but i know exactly how to use my mac. when you learn then you will know fully as well.
I just returned m3 macbook pro. Trash window management. Peripherals like mice and keyboard even the most expensive one dont work properly. Gotta install 3 different apps to make the mouse work normally.
I've switched to mac around 10 days ago, and the dock is also one of the things that I wish I could change to a windows style. I tried using an app, but it was glitching a little bit
You’d love the surface laptop 7. It’s a windows 11 arm MacBook made by Microsoft. Awesome build quality and performance that is at M1 Max level. It keeps up really well with my M1 MacBook Air.
The biggest draw in my opinion is the battery life and ecosystem. Otherwise, I think that Mac OS inferior to Linux and Windows outside of the software hardware optimizations. Both Linux and Windows just make logical sense in how they manage windows and files. Mac OS is just a hot mess...
Look, a lot of these complaints really feel silly. Why does it matter if you can see the speeds? All that matters is how long the transfer takes. Who has time to sit there and unironically think “omg I’m only transferring at 5Gb/s”. You start the transfer, move onto something else and when it says you’re done, you pick up where you left off. I do the same thing on windows. The transfer speed number itself is absolutely useless. Just tell me how long the transfer will take
matter of opinion, many persons like myself like to know how fast a transfer is. It can help you to determine if there are any issues with your connectivity or end device...
an important rule of thumb when it comes to using a Mac is that they are a different animal to windows, it takes time to get a rythem down for using the system and finding out the interesting little quirks but if you get confused the best thing you can do is go into the settings and have a little look around and don't be afraid to change things its hard to break a Mac by just using it. 1 your issue with the dock control click on an icon ( or go into settings and you can enable right click) doing this you can see each instance of an app or window you have 2 there is a way to make the programs you minimise drop to the right of the dock in their own slot similar Into windows I personally don't like this but its a preference thing. once you get your head around the system you will fall in love with it although from what you said in the video I think you are at that point now
For icon view you can drag on the mouse or trackpad to highlight them all and also mac is big on keyboard shortcuts so CMD + A + click on the first icon and it will highlight all. If you only want to actually hightlight say 8 out of 10 icons keep holding down the cmd key and click on the icons you do not want highlighted it will unhighlight them and keep the rest highlighted. The dock icon under the dock shows that the application open even if you do not have an active window, it is left in memory so you do not have to reopen ( it is a carry over thought from HDD days when loading took so long, not necessary in SSD days but kept around for us old mac heads) So most mac apps the red icon closes the window not the app itself. You need use the menu bar of to scroll down to "quit" or use CMD Q to quit that closes the app, removes the dot, and frees up the background process and resources. I have the same apps I use daily with 3 "spaces" (thats the name of the of multiple desktops) I have my main viewing space being desktop 2 and for other resources desktop 1 and desktop 3 and these apps up on correct desktop by right clicking dock icon and selecting options and assigning them to each desktop and from now on they only appear and live in that desktop.
LOLOL The look on your face from the sound system. Yeah bro RIdiculous. Welcome home. I only use my windows machines for Linux. Cant stand Windows But Linux on my M! Max runs so amazing its insane
I just switched from windows laptop to macbook pro a week ago. I sorted out connecting to two monitors without special dongles using usb-c for one monitor and hdmi for the other. What is driving me crazy is that in whatsapp I can't zoom in photos with the mouse progressively. If I double click it will zoom in the area where the cursor is, but if I use the trackpad with gestures I can zoom in the way I want 🤣🤣🤣 I'm enjoying learning, so at least is not frustrating, but funny
I bought a Mac for my parents about 10 years ago and it lasted a good 7-8 years before it slowed to a crawl. Whereas, almost all of my Windows machines lasted over 15 years.
Who else was trying to concentrate onto the things being discussed here but was carried away all the time by this shakey-a** plant on the left side. What kind of rubber table are you working on jeez
This video is going to be extremely useful to me! Thank you! 💕 I just finished watching your transition video from Windows to Mac and I’m extremely excited to own my first Mac. Btw, what’s the name of the song in your intro (throughout the video)?
Glad you found this useful, do keep me updated on what you think once making the switch. I use custom beats made @a.b.composer on Instagram. If you want to see similar videos from me, please do reach out.
Thanks for the review. Great video. I am with same experience with macOS, being windows user since forever. Is the new ultra cpu from intel come close to battery life to macbook ?
@@jeanbaptistelabelle that's what we are hoping for, but I don't trust brands to properly utilise it while cutting corners on build quality, thermal cooling and battery, looking at you Dell
Some apps on Windows when you press the X they hide in the system tray. Dots here are the same as sys tray but without sys tray. It works the same way, just displaying things differently.
I found it interesting that Windows 10 has gained market share in the past 2 years while Mac OS even with the M series chips has lost market share for the past 2 years. I'll stick to Windows. It's always a flip flop whoever has the most advanced hardware, and most users don't need the most advanced hardware anyway and it will no doubt flip back to Windows hardware shortly anyway. There is way more Windows software & hardware accessories available, and people are getting frustrated with Apple's closed system architecture, in ability to expand memory or drive space, and ridiculous pricing on memory or drive upgrades at purchase time. PC's will continue to be the dominate force in personal computers as far as most of us can see. I prefer the choice of having the most software I can run, most cost effective solution, and most expandable option. I also have no complaints with the general operations of Windows. As an IT specialist, I've never found Apple easier to operate. Checkout the RU-vid video "Most Popular Operating Systems (Desktop & Laptops) 1978 - 2023" to see who the real Winner is today and how Apple is falling behind in it's installed user base.
I’ve been a Mac user for more than two decades now since 2009. The last time I used Windows was in 2006 when I switched to Linux on my personal machine. Never had problems when it comes to usability. I missed some tiny features from Windows though but chose to stick with Linux until 2011 when I was able to afford my first MBP. I don’t see myself going back to Windows in the near future. Great video!
@@allainrecorba6791 no it don't. You cannot judge Windows with other machines than the one produced with other manufacturers than the one... doing Windows. Especially recent Windows machine and Windows version v

I'm thinking to do the move , i have a older desktop (that i made my self and have been updating with new parts) and windows update / driver update are bugging everything out !
you are right i auto hide the dock and it takes a 1 second to show up i switched back. i do not like using extra apps so i will leave it on always showing.
What if you do not use a docking station and instead connect both external monitors with separate usb-c cables (using two usb-c ports)? Would that work? This is how my Dell laptop is connected right now and works perfectly.
very true bro! i have the same problem... in summary I use a PC and prefer windows but the only reason why I use a MacBook is because 1) ecosystem (I also use iPhone and apple watch) 2) better laptop battery life 3) spotlight search is better than windows search
