It appears the "Files" function is not in Campfire. Is that correct? And, do you happen to know if it is because they were unable to workout a proper agreement with Zoho WorkDrive... or maybe it's on the way? It also appears they did not include the "Social Advocacy" post type, as is available in a Zoho Connect Internal network. Got any inside information on that feature? Thank you for your hard work. I'm a huge Connect fan but missed the news about the launch of Campfire. I remember talking to their team a couple years ago when they were working on a version which does not require a Zoho account to become a member. Is that the case with Campfire? If so, the task boards must be self-contained within the platform, thereby eliminating the need for a Zoho account. Looking forward to your reply and further conversation.
Hi Jim, Thanks for commenting on my video! Zoho Campfire is still very much in Beta and probably will be for a while. I have not seen files in there but presume you can still attach a small file to a Manual/Article. I think they will try to keep it fairly light weight, particlularly if you can add 10,000 members. They will end up with a large data storage debt. I like connect too, they have basically carved a chunk out of it to create Zoho learn, which is still buggy. Many times the Zoho global account can be a problem, particularly in cases where you are sharing Zoho Project Client Portal access to someone outside your account that also uses Zoho. It tends to conflict and prevents them from accessing becuase it recognises thier email and tried to log them into their own Zoho Projects or creates a Projects trial account. Quite frustrating as the number of Zoho users grows. But I digress, I hope that you don't need a Zoho account otherwise that would likely cause the same issues as the one with Projects. I would imagine task boards would be self contained. They would want to protect the licencing model and not provide a backdoor where you can evade the purchase of Zoho One. Thank you for the video. I started my "campfire", but for now, not really welling to put some time and money to make people migrate from other platforms like Facebook because, i don't know how much it's gonna cost (for know i have it with my zoho one subscription, but don't know the limits). Also, if users don't have an app for there phone to use with, they won't migrate or won't look it often. I see the potential, but not ready to ask my customers to move in. Need to wait from Zoho to know where there go with that.
Hey, thanks for such an awesome and detailed comment. Yes, it will be in beta for a while, I would expect it to be in beta for 6 months at least. Almost every zoho app has a mobile version, so I am sure that's coming. I have reviewed a few other community platforms on my other channel @relevate . I have tried and failed on 7 other platforms but finally settled on one. You can check it out there. This channel is zoho only.
