Está na hora do Salvador sair, deu muito mas a corrupção inerente estragou o clube (ainda hoje foi condenado a ano e meio de pena suspensa)... Está a mais para o Braga dar o próximo passo
As a Braga supporter I must say must of us agree with you regarding Salvador, we recognise he has done a lot to take the club to a new level but now we believe it is time for a new president to take over. Salvador doesn't have the ambition necessary to take Braga to the same level as the 3 giants. He has left us great foundations, a young promising squad, great academy and facilities but now we must build on that. Besides he is very corrupt which has cost a lot of money to the club.
I like the way that everyone says that Sporting was kind of a joke, but I think you are forgeting the obvious, that now the corrupt presidents of porto and benfica left theyre roles, and sudenly "by magic" Sporting started to win. Of course Sporting has a great coach and a great team, but for some reason we dont see nearly as many cases of obvious corruption happening during matches, and naturally the greatest team that ever existed in Portugal as risen to its due place.
Braga needs to join and beat the big 3 if they want to a big 4. Its getting harder and harder to join as Sporting CP get stronger and are now the strongest team of Portugal, that Braga arguably were better. The big 3 are strong at the moment. Braga needs to win the games against the weak teams. Braga has the potential, can it be realized.
Im a Benfica fan, and a major problem for Braga right now is also their stadium. The city of Braga is having a giant flow of new residents, that means a lot of new potencial supporters, But with a stadium thats really remote how can you atract new people, and at the same time keep the old supports comming in? Its a lot of problems in just a single club for them to be abble to lift the lift.
They have no fans, not comparable to the big three at least. Most of the fans are Benfica fans, this using red to please them, and using Sportings name, they have no identity. Good team though. And yes the president doesn’t give chances to the coaches
The way you picture Braga's history as being founded by Sporting fans answers your question. How can a group of students in Braga be already supporters of Sporting when the club had like 10 years of existence (SCB already existed in 1919, although unofficial), and only played regional matches? Y'all can't perceive portuguese football history without involving the three main clubs somehow.
As a Braga member for over 20 years I think your analysis is very superficial. 20 years ago we had 1 cup in 1966, and a fpf cup in 1978, but just in the last 20 years - 2008 Intertoto. 2009 - second place in the league. 2010- Europa league final. 2014 - League cup. 2016 - Portuguese cup. 2020 - League cup. 2021 - Portuguese cup. 2023 - Academy (cidade desportiva). You can call it a slow growth, but not stagnation, just the big 3 allways have more money, thats it
I'm not taking anything away from you guys. It's impressive how long you've stayed competing at the same level. I just believe Braga can make it to the next level with a different leadership. It's ok if you disagree, at the end of the day I always give my own opinion in these types of videos and I want you guys to do the same🤙
The founding of Sporting Clube de Braga is controversial. There are several documents dated 1919 where you can find references to the existence of SC Braga. However, the SC Braga institution was legalized and approved on January 19, 1921, making it the official date of the club. Regarding the equipment, the version of sympathizing with the city's Sporting and Benfica fans is erudite and has few bases. The fact is that before the club was legalized, the color of the shirt was green and white, just like Stromp equipments. However, the club's statutes have always defended the red and white shirt. And then, as you mention in the video, the white sleeves, due to the club president José Antunes Guimarães being an Arsenal fan. Regarding the rest of the video, I can agree with what you say. Since the 21st century, it has been Braga's “Golden Era”, until today. Despite everything, the differences between the “Big 3” and any other Portuguese club are enormous. Decentralization of television rights, marketing, the lack of solidarity of the “Big 3” in sharing European money with other clubs, the lack of people supporting the local team, etc… All this increases the gap between the “Big 3” and the other clubs. I'm not going to talk about the corruption of Portuguese football and the fact that referees benefit Benfica, Porto and Sporting because this is a reality in Portuguese football, but despite everything, Braga had teams that I considered that were superior even to the “Big 3” and they still weren't champions. Mainly because of the reasons you mentioned in the vídeo about the benefits to the “Big 3”. In 2009/2010, the championship dispute with Benfica, dubious decisions emerged, with arbitrations and punishments for players that heavily penalized the club. Hence that year was ironically referred to as the “Campeonato dos túneis” (“Tunnel Championship”). Regarding the club's current president, I disagree when you say that Braga didn't and can´t become champions because of him. It's just difficult to be Portuguese champion with any club other than the “Big 3”, because of the reasons mentioned above and in the video. Salvador makes good money selling players, even to the “Big 3” and in return receives renegade players from these clubs and sometimes transforms them into great players, such as Alan and Palhinha for example. Also Braga produces excellent coaches. But keeping these coaches is a problem because they leave for clubs with more resources. The only thing I'm afraid of, is the club's approchement with PSG. PSG players go to Braga and then leave for reduced prices. And partnerships with national or foreign big companies never yield good results. In Portugal we have cases like Salgueiros, Beira-Mar, Belenses, Desportivo de Aves etc… Also Braga is expanding their academy, in the long run it will be very profitable for the club. Also I want to highlight the investment made in women's football, which has been already portuguese champion, in futsal which is already starting to win titles and in beach football, where it is debatably the best club in the world in that sport. I hope one day to see Braga champion as well as other clubs, but for that to happen portuguese football has to change. Thank you for reading this rant, greetings from a "Braguista".
Thanks for leaving your thoughts! I get that I might have been a bit harsh on Salvador but I genuinely believe he's a little bit impulsive at times. For example, what do you think about the dismissal of Daniel Sousa? I could be wrong but it killed any title aspirations right from the get go.
@@ThroneFC To be honest, Salvador sometimes is a bit of a fool. Let me be clear, that as a person I don't like Salvador, but as president of the club and for what he did, I respect him. Daniel Sousa was a misfortune. He had a good campaign last season in Arouca. Braga didn't lose any games with him, but the fans didn't like the way he played. Braga won games in the Europa League with poorly performances. The draw with Estrela in the first round was more bad luck than anything else. I don't think It should have been fired althought he wasn't ready to take this big leap in his career, but I believe he and Salvador had some problems behind the scenes. Well this year it would be difficult to get into the top 3, especially because Benfica, Porto and Sporting are playing well. Also The fight for the european spot will be very competitive.
I don't agree with you when you say that Braga shouldn't sell to their rivals because that's not the main issue. Sometimes their sales are a success and other times their are not (David Carmo for FCP, for example). The main issue is the league. The league is organised to benefit the 3 giants and makes our league quite boring. It's common practice to invite the top 3 to make decisions that will affect everyone. And, even though Porto has been talking about protecting the interests of the small clubs in the north, it hasn't until now been capable of changing the system. One thing that keeps happening in our league is clubs falling to pay their debts or to their players. They usually make gambles to trying to make it closer to the top and spend much more than they are going to get. That was a small rant on my part. I'm a Porto fan but I would like a change in the system
O Antonio Salvador sabe bem o que aconteceu ao Boavista quando decidiu fazer grandes investimentos sem fundações fortes, por isso é que o crescimento do Braga tem sido lento
Don't you think it's much smarter selling to foreign clubs? More money, you don't lose your best players to your competition.. I know the giants and Braga are in completely different realities but let's say Benfica had the money to buy Porto's best players, you probably wouldn't think that it would be a smart deal. Doing business like that just widens the gap between the clubs
@@ThroneFC I'm not saying that it isn't a valid point. Sometimes it is hard to sell to other countries. Nowadays you can see the small clubs in Portugal selling to foreign clubs. But in previous years was much more rare
Would love to see a video about Os Belenenses, their downfall to B-SAD, and the potential they had to become Lisbon's third giant, considering that the were the only other club from the capital to lift the league title, would've been lovely to have a big 6 in Portugal consisting of SLB, SCP, FCP, BFC, SCB & CFB
Braga will never be a top club as long as the majority of their fans chance to Benfica fans whenever Braga faces them. You really can't support two teams that aim for the same spots.
It's probably the strongest they've ever been.. But Benfica was on another level that year: Aimar, Cardozo, Saviola, Di Maria, David Luiz, Fábio Coentrão...
You could make a video about Estoril Praia, a club that had the potential to be the 5th big club in Portugal but after Marco Silva departure failed to do it. Now with big names in the squad like Mangala (Porto/City) Xeka(top player in Lile) and other “big” stars for the portuguese league but the team isnt going like the suppoters would think. If whant to do this video i can help boa sorte com o resto e um abraço da linha
The difference between Sporting and Braga is not just having a good manager. It's about the amount of fans that don't let the club fall in to obscurity. Sporting, Benfica and Porto always had millions of fans but Braga is a very local club and thats makes it weak at the long run. That's the reason why the big 3 never been relegated from the first division and probably never will.
@@ThroneFC in the long run won't be enough to save the club. History has done the same to Belenenses and Boavista. They have enough fun base to avoid extinction but not to avoy mediocrity.
Euro 2024 Ronaldo has a better overall rating in the tournament than Leao, Felix, Jota, and Ramos. He also had a higher percentage of shots on target than Mbappe, the so called best player in the world currently. I used to have big respect for Messi as the GOAT of all time. But the way the Argentinian players have behaved and Messi joining in that, has really made me lose that respect. From racist outings to a lack of sportsmanship, and eventually being helped so much by referees.. Sorry, but football is not about that, which is why many fans worldwide dislike Argentina when it comes to football. Hopefully next times someone teaches them who's boss, and I hope it may last a long time before they ever win a trophy again.
I personally will never forget those times. The curse of effin Juninho of Lyon. We had a lazy, unbalanced squad that wasn't a team. Thats why I enjoy these times that much more, and I know how quickly it can turn. This era of dominance is unprecedented. I don't remember a club that has ever been so dominant, even during a rebuild. We'll see how long it goes, I hope it never ends.
@@ThroneFC That is always the case. Consider what's happening in USA right now. Trump left office at %28 approval rating. Gone for 4 years, and now has around 40-46. When people look at the past, they tend to be nostalgic and make it much better in their heads than it actually was. Although, let's not forget that Galactico era did win 2 CLs. The team could play when they were motivated, but that was the problem. It was impossible to motivate them for anything else. They would also beat Barca 4-2, and then lose to Tenerife.
Bro,I had forgot that Florentino Perez had step down in that dark era of Real Madrid.Cuz it does feels like he has been the President of RM forever. But watching this video brought back some memories.Cuz I was a Barca fan in those days. But the way they treated Mourinho was kinda terrible. But I do agree that Real Madrid broke Mourinho.
What Giant? They won because the son was president of Boavista and the father was president of portugal football legaue if you say a club is a giant because they won a league with curruption i don't say that...
