If you're reading this, hi! My name is Shivan and I'm a recent grad of UNC Chapel Hill. Just trying to help current and future students with my videos, share my experiences, and hear from others. Hit that subscribe button to follow me on this journey :)
As a UNC Asheville alumna, I loved this video! Overall, it was a very accurate depiction of campus. Although campus is small, there are a ton of hidden gems and every part is beautiful. For instance, the philosophy building, Whitesides, has a beautiful roof garden and terraced “ancient gardens”. There are two large parts of campus you did not explore. Those are: the observatory, which is on top of a mountain abutting the main campus behind the athletic buildings, and the botanical gardens “botans”. Most of campus connects through a set of nature trails and there are several large gardens along UNCA’s periphery. The botans even connects to a greenway that extends to downtown. I mention those things since they are well-loved features of our campus, but it takes time to find them and discover how they link up.
I had a hard time choosing between State and Elon this year but the campus and size at Elon really just sold it for me. Also Elon is only 40 min from Duke and UNC which is pretty cool too.
That’s fair! I think a smaller campus definitely suits some people better, it’s all up to personal preference at the end of the day. And yeah I remember the campus being great when I visited in HS, need to make it back soon
AP euro/world is important because of the knowledge you get. It's important to know history (especially so we dont end up in situations like now in the colleges)
@@ralphjanis2059 right but I also like how it’s still pretty close to both NYC and Philly, whereas the closest thing to Hanover is 2.5 hours to Boston and for Ithaca it’s 3+ hours to NYC. Obviously that’s a factor for myself but might not be for others - but that’s just a prediction, when I eventually visit we’ll see if my mind changes
if your still active, if I preorder before the beta is out, do they send the codes on the launch of the beta or before? Just preordered the new cod so am wondering when I should expect the code
I don’t think AP World was useful to me in terms of my major or for college credit (I mostly took it because I wanted the AP credit for a required course that I need to graduate) but I think it’s an extremely useful and informative class, I learned a lot
Im watching hella vids from u bro. Love em. Where did u go to high school? I went to panther creek (also 30 mins away from UNC) and im going to UNC in september
If you are thinking of an engineering major, AP Physics is a pretty useless course. Engineering degrees require calculus-based physics classes, so AP Physics 1 *Algebra Based* doesn’t help you in anyway other than introducing you to basic concepts. If your school offers it, try to take AP Physics C, a calculus-based physics AP class.
I took APP1 this year but the alternative was chemistry honors which isn't even an AP and I haven't taken calc yet. I'd rather at least have another AP class lol
You are a completely awesome dude and personality, hands down! You would make my party 🎉 cut BUT 🤣I TOTALLY DISAGREE with your picks for best dorms! I was THE First Lady to live in Carmichael and it was new and fun and felt “posh” with great comraderie but a little elegant too! Clean and right across from Kenan football 🏈 stadium 🏟️!! Right next door was the infamous all- male dorm Teague! Older, dirtier but legendary and much sought after! My sister lived in THE NUMBER ONE chosen all female dorm…Cobb! Quaint and very historic layout where you could just FEEL the history of Chapel Hill! Rooms were HUGE and many young women chose it as their number one choice! So, I recommend visiting Chapel Hill to seek out your own ideas as to what hits you as THE home 🏡 for your best college experience! Thank you 🙏 You’re awesome 👏
All Chapel Ridge Apartments are run by criminals and I’ve never seen so much crime in apartments and lots lots Roaches. Very nasty place to live. Worse than low income apartments. The apartments managers are crooked and do people dirty and low down!! The pools are filthy scummy and slime and they allow people to drink at their pools so it’s pretty nasty situation. Certainly not for a family. The rent is waaay to high!! Don’t move there because you have been warned by someone whose been there done that thing.
Thanks for making informative videos on colleges. I have recently been accepted to UNC Chapel hill Honors and also accepted at UT austin for Physics. I am out of state for both, do you think UNC will be better option for me compared to UT? I am struggling to make a decision as i have no one in these colleges. I also have UCLA but that is too costly and far for me.
