One of the best online tackle stores nobody seems to know about. I found them a little over a year ago. Great deals and fast shipping. I don't work for them and I'm not affiliated in any way other than an extremely satisfied customer.
My top five are #1 white Gibbs pencil popper. 3 1/2 oz #2...1 1/2 oz white bucktail with white mister twister 6". #3 albino shad 7". #4 heavy striper bomber #5 storm shad
Overall the shorter the rod, the easier it will be to catch a fish. It will however, be difficult to properly work a popper, if you are throwing a popper. Thanks for the questions!
They are not, we do sell different bait attractants you can use with these trailers. Here is a direct link to all of our bait scents: fishermenssource.com/collections/bait-attractants
What state are you in? Also what species are you targeting, and what is the prevalent bait used in your area? With this info. we can give you some very specific recommendations.
@@Fishermenssource California. I mainly fish an aqueduct/reservoir targeting striper and largemouth but mainly striper. I’ve had luck on a chatter bait and lc minnow. My dad has had luck on a whopper plopper
Ok great, specifically for the mag darter we recommend using any bone/ghost-black color for night fishing. For during the day go with gold-red/bronze. This will allow you to fish for stripers & attract the largemouth as well. Hope this helps! You can shop Yo-Zuri Mag Darters with those colors here: fishermenssource.com/products/yo-zuri-floating-mag-darter?_pos=1&_psq=mag+darter&_ss=e&_v=1.0&variant=12284072263744
You have a couple of nice options for this, if you're fishing for stripers. For the top of the water, use a metal lip. Searching the middle, 3ft down, use a SP/LC Minnow. Lastly, for the 6ft - 10ft areas, use No Live Bait Needed. We suggest a 1oz jig head, since the body weighs 1.5oz as well. Solid options for some good searching!
@Fishermenssource I went out yesterday, and the 2 hooks would not work, so I tried the rig you showed us, and that's what they wanted single hook with the sinker on the bottom it's the only rig that was being hit thanks for the information . single hook tiped with a pink shine gulp
@@user-tq4ih3pl4k This rod if not recommened for fast jigging, you'd really want something in the 6' realm. You can definitely use a Shimano Twin Power with it.
They're made by this local legend: instagram.com/backbayplugs/ We get about 2 orders in each year and they sell out quick! Typically limited to 3 per customer. In-store only purchases. You might be able to reach out to him on IG and purchase through him. They crush on the water!
Follow us on Instagram @fishermenssource We do an announcement whenever we get more Back Bay plugs in. They sell out quick & are limited to 3 per customer. *They are never listed online, in-store purchase only.
I never had a problem with the original Nexus series... But I am psyched they added a medium to the conventional line. And as cheesy as it sounds, the hook keeper is a nice touch 😅
When are Sand Eels most likely to be in surf as far as time of year.Could tsunamis wo4k if fishing jetties or best used on th3 beach.Very helpful for a newbie.thanks
Sand Eels are around mid to late fall, but they don't come in every year. They can vary. Tsunami's sand eels can be used really anywhere and anytime. Best of luck, thanks for watching!
Hey there, ... It's great to have all that gear, ... But it gets heavy, ... I carry about half the amount of gear you have in that bag, ... I noticed your bucktails are like 1 oz. …I use 12’ heavers and multiplier reels only and I cast 3 and 4oz buck tails and small surface irons about 5 to 7 oz. I'm guessing it's about the same weight as your bag, .. Just that my lures are a little bit heavier, .. So I don't carry that many,... Here on the West, .. we use the same lures you guys use on the East Coast, .. Except, .. You guys don't use multiplier reels and if you do, you're hiding it because I've never seen any surf caster ever using one in person or on RU-vid videos, ... Why is that?? Don't have any issues with spinning reels... I own quite a few, ... I just like the distance I get with multiliers..🤗 Anyway, .. Cool video! 🤙😎👌
Thanks for watching! Some of our guys like to carry many options to throw, and some take more light tackle. Great point on the multiplier reels! We agree, the East Coast definitely seems very spinning reel heavy. Maybe the West Coast is onto something.
Awesome vid... what size are the gamblers and mega-shads if I may ask? My only gripe with the bag is the velcro is so loud it is a dead giveaway for a stealthy night ninja...LOL
is there a specific metal lip I should invest in if I best want to target the middle of the water column from ledges; I know you can tune them etc.. thanks for any advice
Spoke with our guys and they recommend looking for a metal lip that has a sloped head. The sloped head will allow it to dive more. We do not have too many in stock, at the moment, but keep an eye on our Instagram. We have a nice order of Back Bay plugs coming to the shop soon. In the meantime, we have 1 color left for Gibbs metal lips w/ a sloped head: fishermenssource.com/products/gibbs-lures-danny-deep-diver?_pos=5&_psq=gibbs&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Just curious, how do you set the hook on a circle hook when you have the rod in a rod holder. Do you set the drag really loose and let the fish run for a little bit, then tighter the drag, and reel fast while still in the rod holder to set the hook? Or do you tighten the drag and leave it in the rod holder for the fish to set the hook by itself? Or lastly, do you leave the drag tight, pick the rod out of the holder and side sweep to hook the fish? Thank you in advance for the advice
