Wow... you might've sold me on a Prophet 6 with Italian Horror Strings. Of course everything here is perfect, but damn... THOSE strings. Goblin, Frizzi, Cipriani. Perfection. Been contemplating selling my Juno-6 and Polysix to get a Prophet 6 desktop. I just want to downsize and keep things simple. And for my uses, the Prophet 6 seems just about perfect. I'm not a pro by ANY means, just an enthusiast.
Everything has some mellow character to it (which I like). Do you think it’s “lack” of drive knob or else? I wonder how new Muse will execute on those songs. I enjoy Sub37CV and Model D, of course never enough of Moogs. Though for poly One did not fit (starting with budget) but I’d want just one poly waiting for Muse…. or OB-X8. Ich habe diese Wahnsinns-Gig jetzt schon einige Zeit nicht mehr gehört! Aber heute! Heute habe ich mich wieder darauf besonnen, einen absolut " affentittengeilen" Gig zu hören! Wer fällt mir dabei ein! Luke Neptune! Der Typ sollte einen Nobel- Preis bekommen! Ich kenne "I feel love" noch aus seiner Entstehungszeit! Damals waren wir 15, 16 Jahre alt! Absolutely incredible what you were able to get out of the X8. Picking this set up for sure. Synthwave, yes, but I feel like a lot of these could be tweaked for all sorts of music. Thanks for the hard work on these!
Ace work as usual Luke! Another must-purchase. Hope you are doing well man! Give your curly-haired son a high five for giving you enough time to knock out this soundset. My 3 yr old son barely lets me touch my keyboards before he's jumping on there with me, turning all of the knobs. I bet he will dig this soundset too ;)
Great sounds these mate, I will be purchasing forthwith, I still use your first set quite a lot. Does this need the new firmware? Have held off updating so far just because a few people seem to have had issues
Hi Chris. It doesn't need the latest firmware but some of the patches will sound better with it. For example the patches that I used the new 4 pole filter on with just default to the original 4 pole filter.

And yes with this new update and with the more time I've had to explore the OBX8 I'm really surprised at how well in can break out of the OB sound and like you say into Moog, Roland territory. This is one thing that really sets it apart from the OB-6 because for me the OB-6 always sounds like an OB which is of course no bad thing.

Proper sad this, tho. Just makes me reminisce of a time that was unparalleled. Young, not so innocent and just loving life. Now it's bills, graft, kids and just trying to get through life till death as pain-free as possible. 😂. Please take me back even just for a little while..
