My side piece caught me while I was at the lowest point of my marriage. At this point and time I had spent probably about nine years being the best father, husband, provider I could be the entire time. Six years Prior to this time frame there was some ups and downs I caused but I straighten myself out for the sake of the marriage and the love for family. Back to the past nine years it was a constant struggle. Petty arguments, the same subject arguments every week at least once week, every month, every year & that was cool but through all of this we financially plummeted from lack of proper communication and respect and I asked my wife pleaded to my wife begged my wife what is wrong? Why are we like this? All the way up to it was just plain obvious I was being disrespected through and through and I was like damn. And so there was no desire to cheat. I knew from at that time there had to be something better out there for me and it necessarily didn’t need to be another woman but it just wasn’t my wife. And so I frequented an establishment just being to my self in my feelings about where I was at in my life and this woman approached me and was like hey! Now I’m like wtf do you want? And she in so many words says I see in you something no one else does. And slight romance ensued. Before all of this I believed within myself it was there but for whatever reason my wife had not. Am I a cheater? Yes I am! But I never removed my wife to be a cheater I see it as she removed herself because she was no longer being the helpmate at this point but more like the pallbearer carrying me to my grave. And like I said before I reached out to her I asked her time and time again what’s good? But there was never a response or resolution to my concerns from my wife. After nine years of that I was broken yall beat the *uck down. And now I have given up on my marriage completely. Because the side piece is saving me and providing what I have been longing for from my wife for more than the past nine years weI have been working for.

Being an elder Zen Xer, I've seen & heard of a LOT, i.e., friends held captive by boyfriends '80s, '90s, etc. b/c they felt like you're their property. Lived thru the '70s with men becoming so enraged by a woman's defiance that he put her in the trunk of her car and drove away.
