I'm a Ugandan/ American with 13 years experience working in the US Federal government. I've listened to Tim talking about presumed pressure from an imaginary US Senator or the government and I couldn't help but wonder how deluded he must be. Tim I understand your frustration with the Ugandan government and state of affairs but it's strange to me how you've stuck to your fascination with the so-called influence and power of western governments as far as effecting regime change especially in Africa. It's much harder than you think, and I thought you would know by now. Your analysis is full of wishful thinking, more than speculation as you term it. I remember how the same wishful thinking always had you predicting how Museveni couldn't survive another year in power and Besigye would be president. You've carried the same imagination to Bobi Wine and now Semakade. If u get off that desk research and come out to interact with the real actors of these empire games, you may snap out of your archaic, dated academic world view.
There is a difference being loved by alot of people with out paying anything that's what God blessed bobiwine. People just love him even without convincing them.
I really want us to be honest to ourselves. What can the LOP's office and opposition in parliament achieve that isn't in government's interest ?? I believe it's not there, so if it's not there why have leader of lop office and being facilitated with a lot of money whereby the accountability is not clear ? Always on plane, stealing allowances, etc. We know the truth though no evidence. Joel in particular has dirty hands. Cosase....civil Aviation etc.
