Currently an entry level engineer now for one year at a navy contractor. Thankfully, I don’t see any of this yet. Asked me manager on higher up positions, and he pretty much said I don’t have enough experience yet and is talking about more tasks I’ll be doing to get more experience. There’s a high chance that my company gets a big government contract by the end of the year which should mean more opportunity for financial growth.
My job is so toxic that it has been severely impacting my mental health. My doctor is ready to work with me and get disability for the distress being caused
Being asked to work while on holidays/vacation is definitely a red flag. If the company or your team cannot function with you, there might be bigger problems ahead.
Thanks for dropping these gems, I hope the people are listening. Also, don’t accept a pay range you’re not comfortable with; it’s difficult to negotiate pay increases after you accept an offer and start. Pay, merit and promotion related increases may be difficult , if not impossible, to negotiate after the fact.
Thank you for dropping another useful video and topic. Written offer is a Must to ensure that you've received everything that was mutually agreed/expected. Totally agree that everything is negotiable and the secret to get anything you want in life is to ask 🙂
Great and useful topic. I definitely agree that keeping a list (weekly at least or monthly at most) of your accomplishments makes it easier to generate your assessments.
