My name is Chi Li, 5'2" founder of petitedressing.com, the clothing site dedicated to women under 5'4" . I created this channel to share a smarter approach to petite fashion. I had a finance career in an investment bank for many years. After seeing the petite section diminishing in all major department stores in the last decade, I became an entrepreneur in 2021 to focus on Petite Dressing, the clothing site for petites. Come join our fun and supportive community! For starters, we have weekly live sale with petite models trying on our new arrivals, a "petite girls' night in" to connect with our customers.
I've been living till 24 like a pear with panties in my a"se, untill I finally went for my dream - boy shorts. I don't quite have any women-designed panties in that shape in my city, so I am also obligated to have this space for pipi on the fabric. Thank you for the vid. You are awesome!
Thank you! 5'2" 🍐 shaped here. This was very helpful. I always felt like I look like a kindergarten teacher in maxi dresses. I'm going to look for some of the options you suggested
💯 % with you. The types of dresses i wear with body shape. I love dresses for work and any occasions. I used to wear capris in my 20s that was trendy then. Now noooo i will look OLDER in them. Beggy pants and long shirt over it is a no no for me. Yes my appearance matters.
Love a trench coat but being 5’3 have always being afraid whether they can look too bulky, neck, top details, belt, fullness and length. Also feel the same with motorcycle jackets and all those pins is too much and I think especially motorcycle jackets are too manly looking somehow but trench coats are fancy wardrobe. Hoping to find one that fits well. Another life challenge. 😂
I definitely agree about the "shapeless" loose dresses, my extra weight is ALREADY in my middle, so omg, they sure dont make me look any thinner! I might look like I'm pregnant!!! 🙄 lol
Hi Chi. I just discovered your channel and I'm devouring your past videos. You're a genius for how you break everything down so scientifically. Thanks for your service to the petites of the world!
I will be 70 this year. I wear a tunic, because I wear yoga like pants and I think it's inappropriate for my butt and pelvic area to be exposed. But not all tunics are equal. I wear ones that don't make me look fatter and shorter. I do care how I look, but age is not something I worry about. I worry about shape, stomach, etc. Also, to echo the others, comfort rules the day.
Wear whatever you like and what makes you feel comfortable, but she has a point. From point of looks, all this things she showed are not very flattering. That doesn't mean you shouldn't wear it. It also depends a lot on your bodytype and colortype and your personality. Maybe it fits you well. But in general most people don't look good in it.
Wear WHATEVER YOU WANT TO WEAR! What looks good on you may look like crap on me. We aren't made of sugar cookie dough. LIVE and BE HAPPY! You are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I laugh because people forget that skinny jeans are the obvious solution for tall boots. You don't want that 70's look of tall boots with looser leg jeans stuffed into them and then bunching at the knees. Not attractive.
Let me tell you. I am 5'7"and sometimes I struggle with some clothing items as well, and these tips can be applied to any height, as they address other problem areas that are not about height. I especially struggle with button u shirts as I have a big bust, a short neck and a round face. I have been lucky to find v neck button up collared shirts but most are regular collar and this is very helpful.
I think all of these items are for different functions and it’s odd to compare them. Like capris for a grocery run but the long wide leg trousers are great for the office. And those shapeless dresses are easy to wear indoors or even as a coverup to the beach. The structured dress it’s compared to wouldn’t even be for the same function.
Pfffffft. It’s TOO hot and TOO humid not to wear capris and loose fitting dresses. Do I wear what keeps me cool, comfortable and happy OR change my attire & be hot & miserable just to look a certain way for other people? I choose happy & cool.😂
Thnx chi it's always gud to watch ur vdos ❤... Though sm style suggestions from u r not functional for me😮 as in single piece dress (I luk literally pregnant 😂 due to extreme tummy protrusion😅) Even wide leg pants or jeans r least flattering on me.. Slightly tapered jeans or pants wrk grt on my shape ❤ (may b i hv unique body shape 🤩) Be Blessed Be Happy n Be Loved Always ❤😘🤗🥰🧚🦄🌈🧿
As a pear shaped person, hipsters work the best! I have very thick thighs because I work out often, seamless hipsters work the best. I've noticed that underwear with seams tend to roll up on me.
